Got the email this morning...
Dear X, We recently became aware of suspicious activity relating to some of Crytek’s websites, and acted quickly to take those websites offline for security reasons. The sites listed below are currently offline: Crytek.com Mycryengine.com Crydev.net MyCrysis.com The following Crytek sites remain online and are not affected by these issues: GFACE.com Crysis.com Warface.com If you have an account at crydev.net or mycrysis.com, you will be asked to change your password next time you log in. If you use your current password anywhere else online, we would also suggest that you reset it at those sites. We are working on getting all websites fully operational again as soon as possible. Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience. The Crytek Team

It was amusing at first but now I'm getting tired of hearing about sites getting hacked. I'm glad that I'm averse to making accounts on websites unless I absolutely have to :P

I don't have an account with Crytek, EA or UBI for this reason. I don't buy off STEAM anymore and only use a handful of game sites to buy DRM Free so don't have to make a game account or be online, granted this severely limits what I play but the last few years there's not been anything sparkling worth playing for me anyway 🙂

I don't have an account with any Crytek site, so my 'fears' are not an issue.
Adding to this, I also got an email moments ago from apple regarding a request I didn't make to confirm I want to change my apple ID...

Hes a tool. I hate apple and most of their smug hipster users. But doesnt mean people deserve to be hacked. This ruins everything for the normal people.

Thats the sad thing now. Since Samsung has been kicking ass with their phones, their followings are turning into mindless fanboys too. Happens with everything. Just look at Intel vs AMD and ATI/AMD vs Nvidia.

Mine was at the cryengine site as I was playing with their engine and wanted to get hold of the cinebox, but that isn't public yet, so meh. As for apple...that's pretty harsh dude...I mean I don't deserve anything for using an iPhone. In my defense (not that I personally should have to) I did look at all the phones on the market and picked the iPhone because the GUI suited me better than the others, and that's important to me. Nokia had a nice GUI on the one I tried instore and I felt the Samsung I tried was sluggish when moving between screens, like there was a delay, so it came third. Can't remember the other manufacturers, but they were very samey and didn't stand out, and the blackberry had buttons...and I felt this was a step backwards.
