So they are going down, because they have partnered with AMD? I don't get the logic...
There isn't any except in his own little head.

Crysis is one of the worst series i've seen, with the only special thing is graphic. those game are a big fail(except warhead which was short but good). Still shame for all those people that lost their job.
Crysis and Warhead where good, 2 and 3 where sells outs to the console crowd to make quick buck, and apparently that didnt work out to well for them. and Ryse was flop COD on the other hand is pure watered down fps trash, and no one will ever convince me other wise. Actual I think alot FPS games to come after halo have all been watered down trash for with console people in mind
Thats what happens when you betray your core audiance, and when you think that graphics make 70% of the game (according to crytek).
Square Enix anyone??? hah

I also enjoyed Farcry3, even had a nostalgic moment after I had it finished. Crysis1+Warhead was very good and unique imo, nothing could rival it's graphics at it's time, I still consider both a masterpiece. Here's a little fact. Crysis1 was/is responsible for a lot of today's enthusiasts. Just ask around, plenty of today's gamers will openly admit that it was/is this specific PC game title that sparked their interest in building custom PC's. Also, because of it's graphical demand noobs and enthusiasts had to be on the edge of their seats practising their OC'ing skills in order to squeeze every drop of FPS/performance out of it. ...and lastly, that famous phrase 'But Will it Run Crysis?!'' that had been spread all over the web like a virus also marks my point that Crysis1 was indeed legendary and without it the PC scene and the experience would not had been as fun nor as interesting.
whilst everything you say is true - there is a little fact missing and that is that the crysis1 engine was very poorly optimized - it rendered everything the eye could see at the same level regardless of the distance where as other engines reduce the detail on objects after a certain distance to keep framerates higher. this is what caused it to humble even the highest end graphics cards of the time - which if my memory serves me correctly was a 8800GTX / Ultra. you could get playable framerates on max settings if you SLI'd but it was frankly appalling how much you had to fork out just to enjoy the game the way it was intended.

I will stay away from the hipster cool things to say that everyone seems to say about every game, movies, music and everything else. But Solo! All the cool kids are doing it now! Pfft... I liked all of the Crysis games with #2 being my least favorite. I loved the first couple and I loved 3. Too bad this is happening.

I will stay even further away from you hipster cool kids and say that Crysis 2 was my favorite and played it for over 60 hours. Went though it on different difficulties then went though it again on hardest when Maldo bought out the texture pack. Crysis 1 was my least favorite as the controls were not as slick to activate the suit abilities on the fly like the other two.

Meh, crysis cannot compare to the sheer brilliancy of the Metro series. Best FPS SP: Metro 2033 MP: Bad Company 2

Edge7. This is neither the time nor the place. This is a thread about crysis. Go and post somewhere else unless you want to post about this game. You are making no sense in this thread.
This thread is actually about Crytek halting work on the next Homefront iteration....

Agreed ! You got a video , make a site and upload it there. As for the topic at hand: The problem is that to many games are about graphics and not about having lots and lots of fun (story and game play). Think about the gamers souls and not they're eyes.

Too bad, i´m a great fan of the first Far Cry and Crysis, two of my favourites FPS. The problem is that after that they only made garbage... Maybe it´s just me, but i´m thinking that Crytek is just another victim of EA´s widow´s kiss, like the companies that made Command and Conquer, Syndicate, Dungeon Keeper and so on. It seems every successful gaming company EA buys, they trash it just for fun. It seems like it´s EA´s main objective, destroy everything they touch... And their next casualty is Battlefield...

Shame on crytek! It must be abolished. What u guys did with Crysis 3?I remember that me and my friend with GTX 295 werent able to play this game due its exclusive support for DX 11 capable hardware.
on other hand GTX 295 was already an old GPU card when Crysis 3 was launched... cannot blame them for that at least.

Look I rarely every try to insult someone on here, but jesus you sound like a ****ing baby. Sorry but GTX 295 is quite an old card. Its people like you that hold back games and tech from moving because you wont. Its not a developers fault nor is it their problem to pander to the now small dx10 crowd. DX11 has been out for nearly 5 years. Move on.

Big fail? I enjoyed a lot this game, the story and the gameplay was amazing. If you don't like it's your problem but don't shame it all the time.

Btw wasn't the first Homefront a huge flop? Me and none of my WoW guild 30+ people even bothered getting it after we tried the Beta/Demo. Bring on the new Battlefront asap plz.

How many more stories are going to be published from the initial bit of information? Several of the articles that were intially published on this subject indicated that alot of the people who are no longer in Crytek's employment were positions associated with Homefront. It was only a matter of time till "news" about the work stoppage on the project was mentioned. Just from those initial articles it should have been surmised that they were halting work on the project. Plus the fact empoyee's not gettingn paid, that too was mention in the intial articles. This is rehash journalism to do nothing but bolster traffic to the respective author's employer's site. All about keeping the advertising dollars rolling in.

I guess NEXT Gen piece of **** consoles couldn't save them. **** went down hill soon as they partner with with AMD.
Were they in trouble before hand, did they need next gen console to save them. From what I've seen the main issue is an eggs in one basket situation with Ryse. They sunk a lot of cash in to the game and it was sh*te and sold pretty poorly. The big problem just now seems that MS want to buy the Ryse IP off Crytek yet Crytek don't want to sell it, not really sure why though.
