Great review, Hilbert. Very close to my experience. I have this mouse for a while now and it has been a great upgrade from my old one. Pressing WASD-keys will have your left hand in a twist when you need some other keys while using a mouse. So, I have mapped the WASD-keys to four buttons on the mouse. I had to get used to it, but now it's great and it's hard to get back to a regular mouse. I also made a non-gaming profile which mapped the cursor keys, page up and page down, etc., to the mouse. Very handy. πŸ™‚ The software and firmware are stable these days. No complaints anymore. BTW: If you don't like yellow, the mouse is also available in black.

I always wondered, aren't those thumb buttons to small to reach individually? Couldn't imagine to have 12 of them there (never tried it though) πŸ™‚

Yes, they are small. You need to get used to it. At first it's hard to find which button you'll press, but two colums have a different surface, so you can feel on what button your thumb is. In the beginning I had to look at the mouse. Now I don't have to.

This is not a mouse. This is full blown SoC/electro-mechanical device! But keyboard mashing always beats mouse mashing. I would use these new mouse buttons for non-spamable spells, and for non-mission-critical macros.

Word of Warning! A sizeable minority of Scimitar RGB owners are experiencing tracking problems. I'm one of them. The Scimitar is maybe the best mouse ever, except that for me and a few others, it doesn't do one of the core features of a mouse: 1:1 movement tracking. Unfortunately, this makes the mouse unusable. I'm back to using my old reliable Razer Naga 2014 until this issue is resolved. Corsair has been great about responding personally to my issue, and went so far as to send me a free AX850 power supply as compensation. (I still have the mouse.) When it comes to mice, I prefer much simpler. I bought a Perixx MX2000II after reading a review of the mouse here and it's held up very well, aside from the side rubber thumb grip detaching--which hardly mattered anyway, really. I enjoy using the laser on a white tile table top...;)

Well, this looks like an abortion! Oh, but wait, it's got 12000 dpi, now we're in the living! (Afterthought: I'm not the market for this mouse, don't need a million buttons getting in the way! Probably why I don't like it, aesthetics aside.)

probably for mmo-type mouse, not really important but what sensor this mouse using ? are this good enough ? or close enough to logitech Pixart 3366?

This would be the top mouse pick for me. The only "downside" I see is the yellow color on the side that makes RGB on the mouse itself redundant. A more neutral color, like a gray would make it fit much better with other RGB equipment.

I have a Corsair M90/95 (2 of them actually) and I love it. The button layout is very different, but I find it to be by far the most natural layout as far as moving my thumb to hit all of the buttons easily. The quality and sturdiness of it is impeccable as well. If this one has the same build quality then it's definitely a contender.

Now if they can make a wireless version, take double A batteries, and last 3 months on the heaviest of senerios... May I have 2 ?

Yeah I swear by wireless, I got the sidewider X8 years ago only had to replace the rechargeable battery once and the mouse is still going strong, before that I had a slew of wired mice an on every one of them the wire always wore out.

That mouse have TERRIBLE tracking issues due the RGB lighting f***ing the "polling" stability.

is it ok to have mindgasms just by looking at the pics, cuz i had some ! . In the market, yesterday, found an old logitech g600 bittoo pricy for this year πŸ™

Why the heck does it always have to be humongous thumb panels ? The only ones who have done an 13 button mouse without that are Logitech with the G700/G700s. I kinda hate being stuck with that, since Logitech button switches tend to break, but there is absolutely no alternative. So if my G700s dies, it'll be just another one.

Corsair Gaming Scimitar RGB Mouse Still Not Tracking Correctly (4/3/2016) I've found several sources that claim that the Corsair Gaming Scimitar RGB Mouse's tracking has been fixed, and that it is now tracking correctly. The Scimitar is not fixed. I took my Scimitar out of the box again today, updated the CUE driver software and the firmware to the current versions and tested the mouse against my Razer Naga 2014 by drawing thin diagonal lines in Windows Paint. The Scimitar still traces highly stair-stepped diagonal lines, indicating that the tracking problems have not been fixed. The tracking issue is less apparent at lower DPI, say, around 4000. At that DPI, and the Razer Naga at 8200, it is difficult to notice the Scimitar's tracking errors. But at 8000 DPI and higher the Scimitar's tracking errors are very noticeable. I urge Guru3D to do their own testing and to look further into this issue. If it is found that the mouse has a tracking problem as I and others have described, then for sake of their credibility, they should add that information to the review.
