Thanks for the excellent review, Hilbert. A very impressive product at a reasonable price for what it offers. As you said, it is an investment, as a good PSU can last you a long-long time. Although my Chieftec is nowhere near as good as this one, it does get the job done, but if I were in the market for a new PSU, this one would be at the top of my list.

Can see me replacing my HX1050 with this unit.

That looks really neat.
It would be nice if they could have a module to allow direct monitoring of the rails.
Thats the only thing extra I could wish for. (Ah, just saw on their website they have a 760i version with monitoring built in 🙂)
If I was looking for a new PSU, either this or the 860i would get my cash.

Getting the 760i actually, placed my order just now.
I was going to get the thermaltake toughpower platinum but after so many months of them advertising it and NO sign of it anywhere I went with this.
Seems like a great buy after your review. Some good deals on the 760i at newegg. 15% off and 20$ mail in rebate. My sigma is nearing the end of its cycle being a 5 year warranty. This having 7 year really nailed it.

I received it today. Install went very smooth. Thankfully my old sigma was modular or else i would have had a major headache on my hands.
Cable management on this is no other with my s-1000. Everything sits in the back panel quite nicely and the best part is the amount of SATA power connectors. 3 rails each holding 4 connectors means my full bay of SATA drives are connected with no extra wiring strung about.
The monitoring software is awesome. I hit a peak of 350w running farcry3. With a watercooling pump, 9 fans, 8 drives, 6 USB and 2 esata. I think i could easily run a SLI setup if i wanted. Although the UI having very basic graphics for this day and age leaves something to be desired. Overall extremely satisfied with my purchase.
