what is the difficulty of the motherboard manufacturers already having a connector like this? I guess the eVGA already made.

For whatever reason, buying a 90 degree adapter never really occurred to me. I should look into it though, since the 24-pin connector kind of gets in the way of my CPU airflow. I have found some some generic right-angle adapters for half the price of the CM one, though you don't get the capacitors in those. I suppose depending on your motherboard and overclocking, you might want those caps, though I personally wouldn't really benefit much from it.

No clue on pricing on the CM one, but I suggest people to check out ali-express / eBay as well 😉

Geryboy:

what do you guys think of it? For the looks this is nice, do you really think ripple will be such a big deal. I would just buy it for the looks anyway, since a stiff 24 hardly bends and shows alot of cable....
For the looks yeah, but the 'ripple' sounds like marketing nonsense. A decent PSU will take care of an 'ripples' before outputting and even IF something got through the PSU, Mobo itself has a whole host of power smoothing circuitry built in. I suspect that IF you are having issue with 'ripple' then this part isn't going to fix that.

Yea, it's marketing bullshit. A simple connector would not cause ripple, so the capacitors are a money grab. The only loss in performance would be from resistance if the connector is crappy material and can't handle the amperage.

They should make a kit of these connectors (24, 8's and 6;s) with different angles and lengths so that you can build the connectors out to show no wires at all. I think that could look really clean/cool. If this happens in the future. Remember this post lol.

why did this adaptor take so long, been trying to find one for years, finally ordered a handmade one from china for $4 on ebay- amazon has them too. Looks and works great

Seconded, for practical reasons. My case is a large one, the PSU sits at the bottom, the two 8 pin connectors on the mainboard sit at the very top. The cables just barely reach them, it's a very very tight fit. 90° angled 8 pin adapters would give me that extra cm.

Additional resistivity.

You could always get extension cables?
