I'm not getting an ASUS board next time. My past 2 ASUS boards have died way before they should, within 2 years of new. My friend's X99 (OK a lot older) also just packed up. I used to think ASUS was the best of the best and wouldn't look anywhere else. Not anymore.
look at your local environment if electronics are dying so fast.

Not sure what you mean. Anyway, it has happened in 2 different houses and apart from a few lightbulbs, I can't think of any other electronics that have failed on me in the last few years.

Many believe since Asus started building components in China that quality went down? This is bad quality control, visual inspection not doing their job properly.

Ive used Asus for years now, ever since the Asus P5W DH Deluxe and the Asus P5K Premium motherboard. Never had a problem, the P5K Premium still works to this day. Ive had Nvidia boards (which were god awful), gigabyte which was hit and miss, and MSI which were solid tbh. Every company has their moments of greatness and misfortune.

Quite true, but I would add that depending on how they react to that misfortune is what separates good companies from everyone else. By now ASUS are well aware of an issue, let's see what happens next.

Yes! 100% correct. Just look at how Gigabyte handled the PSU issue compared to how Fractal handled the fan hub issue on the torrent case.

I've had at least a dozen ASUS boards with no issues. My x99-A still works too.
