You're conflating invention with production, DJI used others technology to make commercially available camera/drones, they invented neither but where the ones to sell such devices commercially, hobbyists had been doing it before them and military before everyone. I'm not sure what your point is. Every Youtube channel is such that you either like it or not. It's a matter of taste. Getting one from China might not be rocket science, but great many things in life aren't rocket science, yet still most people would rather not do them. Dawid, and other successful youtubers, can do it because they make the money back and spending their time on it is their paying job. So, they can do it far more easily that a random joe from behind the keyboard. And no, I'm definitely not willing to pay for it, nor would I be willing to install the drivers on my PC.

But i think the concept of open source is about sharing knowledge, more than copying others as an way to recognise the importance of their work.
But we have to recognise that we have been copying others since the beginning of civilization, that´s how we have reached so far scientifically and technologicaly.
Nothing is created on a vacuum, but on top of others ideas and concepts, for example, Europe brought gunpownder from China and the numerical system was created by an arabic country, and so on.
This is not an excuse to how China conducts business regarding IP, only to explain that copying is an integral part of scientific and technological development since the beginning.
