Why ban in public?

Why ban in public?
Invasion of privacy for one. Just because I'm out in public, that information should be private. I'm not deeply concerned because I'm don't believe this product falls into the must have bracket, mainly because I believe the need to look good in the age bracket it's aimed at conflict.

Let's ban taking photographs and videos with regular devices too while we're at it!

It is illegal to photograf someone who doesn't want it or you didn't ask him. Isn't it? :infinity:

it's the stealth factor, if you take out your phone/camera, it's usually noticeable and people can avoid it. The glasses are able to take vids/pics without anyone knowing. That's what i think it might be.

No, it isn't. In the public you're game.

When i strictly dont care about the google glass, in reality, there's 2 thing: - A light is on when the camera ( photo or video ) is working ( could maybe be removed ) - The guy with the glass will need to constantly watch at you and for peoples who have test it, its extremely visible the guy is trying to capture a video of you or a photo. its even more visible of what you can do with a smartphone like make believe you are doing a call and enable the camera at same time, keep the phone in front of you, like if you was use it normally, and take a photo, video during this time, keep the phone down near your pocket and take a photo.

Yea, casinos love it when you're spending money. But when you start winning, sh!t starts getting real lol.

Honestly, while it's a cool technology, I'm all for a public ban.

I regularly take vids (using my SmartPhone ) of people allowing their fleabag dogs to crap on the pavement, and then post said vids on YouTube! 😉

Nope, that's a general misconception A LOT of people have. I can photograph people all I want, and neither they or the cops can do anything about it. The only thing I can see that isn't allowed is if youre taking photos in a private area. but then again, it's illegal because you're trespassing and not because of the photo itself.

you have to tether it to your phone and most phone company's charge extra for tethering so your spending $1500 for the glass + monthly fee for tethering lol

In the public, there's no expectation of privacy. Someone can walk right up to you and take your picture, and be within the law. Even if you say not to. If you don't want your picture taken, then stay inside your house. The problem i see with the whole expectation of privacy, there are thousands of cameras on the streets, inside businesses, all above our heads recording 24/7 and we think nothing of them. But someone walks up to you and snaps a picture, and suddenly it's a big deal? All because you can see the person behind the camera...? Hell some people have photographic memory and have no need for a camera. What of them? So again, if you don't want to be recorded, or photographed, stay inside your house, and cover your windows up and stay there forever. Should you ever enter a grocery store, prepare to be recorded. That said, i think the google glass is kind of silly, it's just so obvious. It would be different if it were discrete, like built into a pair of normal sunglasses or something. They remind me of the big early bluetooth headsets. No one looks cool wearing them.

What about tiny spy cameras you can put in your shirt button? There are a lot of other cameras than smart devices so why suddenly ban the glasses :s lol
