I imagine gear like this would be Great for setting up a home render farm without having to buy more traditional and expensive solutions 🙂

Is crypto-mining even still lucrative? The difficulty was high enough when I started, and that was back when bitcoins were a mere $30. And then it begs the question--why are companies selling these supposedly lucrative mining devices instead of using them themselves?

Doesn't mining require a Pickaxe?

If you want to make money from "mining", you either trade the currency and hope you don't get hacked or scammed, or you sell stuff for people to "mine" it with. You categorically do not attempt to mine it yourself, been like that for years. The entire thing is a f**king joke anyhow, only used to launder money and monetise rather sick and depraved crimes. Not with a barge pole.

Bitcoin topped $1,800.00 yesterday, and there are lots of altcoins that are GPU mining oriented that bring in good money. It's certainly possible to make a living completely from cryptomining, although due to the volatility of it I feel it's best as a supplemental income (unless you have the space, time, and electricity capacity to go large scale).
