G-Sync is not a gimmick. And BenQ make great stuff.

I love me some BF4 lightboosted on my 2420TE, but refuse to browse the web on it. TNs vary greatly and the one BQ used here is hideous. I just hope these Gs will have a very high quality TN like Asus is claiming for their $800 G-string.

BenQ make some fantastic products. I still have a G2420HDBL sitting around that was amazing for what it cost.

Damn, how many TN panels can Benq crap out? All of these features are wasted when the overall image quality is mediocre at best.

Just yesterday I wrote BenQ should head back to the drawing board for not having any variable V-sync driver in their gaming monitors, and then the very next day Guru3D announces a couple... The only thing I've ever bought of BenQ's was a 52x CD-R drive in the days when Windows 98 ruled. It was so very very loud. Anyway, as the 27" monitor model features G-Sync I'm looking forward to any reviews. I'm won't dismiss the monitor if it has a TN panel. My Samsung T260 has a TN panel and the colour quality is great. The only downer is the resolution. FHD is getting a bit old in the tooth now, and I only buy a new monitor every five years.

People can bash TN panels all they want but my 144Hz ASUS monitor works great! I have no issues with it, and games look great at 120Hz. The cost was low and when you tweak your settings properly it looks "ok". No it as not as nice for web browsing and looking at pictures of flowers and butterflies, but I do not own a gaming rig to look at pictures! If I did then I would just hook up a second monitor for that.

If you're used to an IPS panel, the Asus 144hz is trash for desktop. Plain and simple. Tinted all over the place, different colors everywhere, colors off in general. It's a complete trainwreck.

I own 2 of the Asus VG248QE monitors and couldn't disagree more. Sure the colors aren't as accurate as an IPS panel, but it's far from the train wreck your describing.

my XL2720T looked like crap out of the box, had to calibrate it 🙂 looks good now of course you cant compare ips picture accuracy to a regular one
