Any game can and must take its stand purely on singleplayer. Multiplayer is a bonus. If you ask me, BF3 was a PoS that demonstrated the worst of todays game industry. I wonder how many play games like psychonauts lately? EA - electronic arts. ARTS! That review that Hilbert posted, to my ears was something like "blah blah frostbite engine blah blah so frostbite engine doesn´t disappoint". As much as i like to ignite my pubic hairs with sweet looking graphics, i´m looking for fun. FUN! To have a a dying soldier breath the atomic waste of a nuclear weapon in MW1 while his child memories sing in his head, now that´s art. To have building and bombs exploding in my face at every single moment like a freaking self-combusting firework factory while i can´t even distinguish the enemies from allies through all the smoke? Don´t bull**** me. /end of rant. (Can´t censor myself, sorry)

You say games , but i speak for the masses that buy BF puerly for MP, if you buy BF for SP you are 1% of total gamers i can bet on that 🙂. it's like buying Counter strike and playing single player ...

I concur. Tho I am passing on this one. I do buy CoD's for the SP only and have since CoD 2 Tho I do like a good Co-op.

I can see why, too many tryhards and people out to play for the sole reason of winning rather than having any fun. The main reason I got the game is that my old CSS clan is hosting a server for it, and they're all probably going to jump in for a month or so. Makes the purchase worth it for me. BF4 is a staple of MP action such as Counter Strike ... Its not something that should be expected to have good SP. After seeing several weapon unlocks requiring a play of the campaign, I jumped in to see what they've done this time. I am happy with it so far, as so far its quite a bit better than BF3's fail of a campaign. Still, the game play still gets bland and repetitive at times and any point where they could have turned to some really interesting game play aspects just end up the standard military shooter style... enemies run in and start shooting you duck behind cover and take them out. I've resorted to simply trying to get a head shot or melee every kill ... the added challenge provides some enjoyment into the otherwise bland game play. Really I wish they would turn to a more comical single player, such as what Bad Company was. It really justified the single player and made it much more entertaining. All these serious war FPS plots are getting old for me. Visually, and in terms of optimization I'm quite happy with what they've done. It runs very smooth and still looks very good on low settings, while averaging around 90fps even at 1440p in multiplayer. I commonly see above 100fps depending on the map, siege of shanghai seems to have the lowest frame rate averaging around 70, still noticeably higher than the beta. In single player, upping to high/ultra mix I'm able to keep above 50fps and a quite enjoyable visually attractive experience. AA really kills the framerate, just turning that off and running post process anti aliasing gives quite a performance boost. Noticeable on-screen aliasing is minimal at this resolution. Overall, its a mediocre game in an industry full of mediocre shooters. If you buy it, you probably already know what you're going to get out of it.

We have to keep in mind that in BF the SP is the bonus, and MP the main, not the other way arround. 🙂

Battlefield 4's campaign is a jumbled, minimally coherent collection of guided shooter clichés. It isn't just forgettable, it's consistently, often willfully stupid.

i totaly agree with that, i found it very bad..Just a nice Tech Demo, nothing more..

Also, ill back up Hilbert on this, i also buy games mostly for teh SP (campaign)..and not for the MP... but in todays industrie, Games (sp) gets more and more dumped down..illogical, bad story, et cetc.. i wonder if this shines a light on the intellect of the audience that it is delivered to. or better sayd, if the industrie thinks that we are so stupid..dunno, i miss teh good old times with good story driven games and freedom to do it different..If i play such Games i sometimes think this game(play/mechanics) are made for 10 year old kids... in the old doom3 for example u had to find ur way and look for stuff etc..in dead space u just get it thrown at you, ebven neon lights showing u the way, as if im too stupid to do it on my own.. Bad example , but u get me i guess... maybe i am tooo old shool for this new generation People...lol

Nice graphics..... and I agree with Hilbert - I buy games for the SP (and for CoOp). The only Multiplayer I care to play is TF2, and that's free forever. 😛
