That's nice of them. I doubt it will help BF5 much, and clearly that's what this is all about. I think they really screwed up this time. The only two BF games I haven't bought in my entire life are Hardline and BF5. I don't consider either a proper BF game.

I bought BF1 way back in March during one of their sales, as part of a double pack with Titan Fall 2, and haven't even played multiplayer, once. I've only played about 1-2hrs of the campaign, and that was just to see how the game ran on my PC.
It just didn't click with me, so couldn't be bothered with the online gaming part of it, getting to know large scale maps is such a tedious time consuming effort for me these-days, I'll only put the effort into games that immediately grab me, and this just didn't.
TF2 on the other hand, awesome game.

Also, the maps are tiny btw. But meh it's a pretty shit game IMO. As is BF5

The game is on sale for 5EUR. It's the premium pass that is free.

4.99 is the base game - at the moment. Premium adds to that.
But you can get it without the base game, there's an option for that at the same location. In case you'll buy it later or use a service (origin access or some free weekend etc) that includes the base game.

Same, loved BF1, even though my favorite will remain BFBC2. BFV however will be the first BF game that I won't get at launch. There are simply too many things I dislike about it. Maybe down the road, after several updates, I'll reconsider...

BF1 is graphics wise the best optimized PC FPS ever.
I don't play the game much, because among other things (and same like every other BF) the weapons are too soft and clinical for my liking. They just do not have that Warsaw pact kick.
I just fire up the game from time to time and marvel at DICE technical prowess and execution 😀

Free premium is a nice bonus, picked up normal BF4 ages ago on discount. Although I have only got to rank 4, even though I know it's a great game I just can't motivate myself to play it.

I personally liked BF2 the most albiet it had issues with grenade spamming and a few things like that. It had good team play and this connected feeling like you were in the game. I have no idea why we see graphics get better it feels more disconnected as it really should be the other way around. The gameplay got bad with BF1 and worse with BFV and was best in BF2 imo. I really wish EA would focus on the gameplay in spite of graphics, gameplay first then graphics please. As it stands now the weird disconnected / floating around feeling you have with BFV, I will not be ordering it. Anyone that thinks this is offbeat fire of BFV beta play for a bit then go fire up anything prior to BF1.

I might actually re-install BF4 and see how populated the servers are.
I might also just un-install BF1 forever and never play it again. BF5 no thanks, maybe down the line when you are also giving that away for free too instead of spending £120 on it like i did with BF1 which is now looking like the worst purchase/preorder i have ever made. Won't make that mistake ever again that's for sure.

A very good single player game actually on BF3, BF4 and BF1 but can't remember about the older ones like BF2.

BFBC2 had the most fun SP out of them all if I remember correctly, because it also combined comedy with action and didn't take itself too seriously.

BF3 and 4 actually had horrible single player campaigns but bad company 2 on other hand was amazing and game is currently on sale on steam: 1.5eur, it is worth to purchase at least for single player as mp may be not populated enough anymore. BF1 has interesting approach to single player with its stories campaign. Also recommend this one.
