This could be a great thing but we all know its just a matter of time before they have these things in body armor patroling south-side Chicago for Gang-bangers.As long as they do not put them in key-responsible roles I dont see how robots will rebel against us,after all we made them we can take em out as well. Can we take out our maker whoever it may be? I dont think so! Nz.

Walking on 2 legs is more energy efficient. (As long as you have brain wired well enough not to prevent fall.)
Sensor technologies are getting better every year. Sooner or later its movements will be handled by asic making him faster and more agile than we are.

As a robot developer, seeing what BD makes always excites me. Most things I see about robots are either boring or just research prototypes, but BD makes real standalone functioning robots.
BD has made a 4-legged robot called Big Dog. It was pretty revolutionary, though it sounded like it was powered by Africanized bees.

Jokes aside, the treat against humanity isn't the humanoid robot who depends on barcodes to understand the relationship between objects. This can only help us lose our jobs or replace our soldiers with people controlling it with an occulist rift. The real threat will be when we design software that can learn all of humanities experience through different plugins.
In other words, don't fear what the mechanical engineer can do, fear instead the software engineer.
