when are they going to do the smart thing and start including a built in battery backup.

interested depending on price, does anyone know if you can install the "os" well the system files on one of the M.2 slots rather than use them as cache ?
I learned one thing with my QNAP, system files should be completely separated from the rest, if there's a problem or bad shutdown you do not want to rebuild a raid array with 10+Tb drives when it could be done only on a pair of m.2 or ssds
also a system on HDDs is a thing of the past I don't want that anymore, super slow boot and operations, we are in 2020 or what :/

Too much money for a locked system with inferior hardware compared to a DIY NAS based on Linux, BtrFS, more cores and more RAM. I can't see why I should buy or sell such a device. Too expensive and big for enthusiasts and too weak and too little support ( 4h NBD etc. ) for business use. Once it fails you wish you had a DIY NAS or a professional Dell/HP box with proper support. my 2 cents
