I'm reading business all over this, but would this actually suffice for a home NAS? Something always running low powered in the background...
As it sits in currently using my beast of a desktop for my home server, but would love something smaller and way more power efficient.
any input to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated..

@DeskStar
business NAS > home NAS
business NAS can be used for many user at the same time, so spec wise they are much better
for home NAS, most using it for family storage and media player
so if you think to use as media-player mainly, then check if the NAS can playback 4k
i dont think many concern about transfer-speed much
also probably u want more drive-bay rather than performance, like 4-bay or more...
that way you can keep using ur nas, without needed getting another one just because u need storage space and the NAS reach the capacity limit
another things is the CPU, there is intel based and arm based
most pick intel simply because more add-on/package for intel rather than newly arm based
intel based nas usually abit more expensive (mid to high-end model) than arm (entry-mid)
so if you just need for simple storage without needed various function like VM etc., then getting arm based will save u $
