haste:

WIFI7? I've just recently begun thinking about upgrading my router to WIFI6 and there is WIFI7 already? Honestly, I don't really care, my 1GBit wired connection doesn't complain and phones are fine with the good old 5GHz wifi.
The thing you plan to update too is already old news ! Technology blink and what you want to buy is outdated ! Jokes aside wifi 7 is not finalized yet ... Such products might get a firmware update to the final spec , they might not though either cause the manufacturer does not want to or because on the final version something was added that this can not do.... So no need to worry and wifi 7 now the drafts they release are pre-early adopters "taxed"

By time WIFI7 is widespread they'll be WIFI9 routers, think Asus being excessively greedy charging 799 for this.

For 799€ I can imagine a few scenarios involving high end network gear. Sans RGB, that is.

Honestly, take it from someone who bought an ASUS WiFi 6 router, wait a few years when the spec is released for new refreshed models. They'll be significantly cheaper and actually have > 1gbps ports. While I am very happy with my purchase I have also learnt what I, as a consumer, need to do the next time I upgrade my router. If and when that is done, as I wire everything by ethernet.

I wanted to wait for this, but this is a downgrade from GT-AXE16000 GT-AXE16000 has 2.5Gb WAN + two 10G ports [makes sense right?] This new one, has one 10Gb WAN/LAN port and one 10G LAN port, everything else is 1Gb So it doesnt make any sense, either you have 1G Internet and connected NAS/Unraid + PC to 10G or you have faster Internet than you take 10G port for WAN and have just one left. Im in this situation right now with AX89X and got a switch that has 4 2.5 ports and 2 10Gb ports, so my 2.5 internet goes to one 10G port and another 10g port goes to 2.5g port on switch and 2 10g ports on switch, one for my PC and one for unraid I rather just use single router without any switches
