Can you at least try to leave a productive comment? You almost sound like a child wanting something he can't use or need. Lets say they do give you this magical 144hz IPS monitor with G-sync along with a unicorn shooting lasers and pooping rainbows, do you then intend on spending $10k on a build that just might hit the max potential of that monitor? I think not. Think before typing stuff up.

Have you done ANY research as to why UHD4k monitors can currently only run a max of 60hz? Nope? If you'd do some you'd find that the current standards lack the bandwidth to handle the higher refresh rates. Give it time and you'll see 120+ hz UHD4k monitors on the market.

Doesnt Gsync obviate the need for 120hz? My understanding is that refresh rates become irrelevant with Gsync. You get the same fluid, smooth gaming experience at any refresh rate with Gsync.

Your understanding isn't correct. Even with high refresh rates the GPU still could have to wait with the already rendered frame for the display vertical blanking interval. Basically it waits for the display to tell the GPU "ok now you can send it". Gsync and freesync turn this other way around, instead of the display monitor telling the GPU "now I'm going to refresh, send the frame" and GPU tells the monitor to refresh immediately after the frame is rendered. No delay, no input lag, no stuttering.

The point of 120 Hz displays is that you can potentially get smoother fps, if your gpu can render at those speeds that is 😉 The fact that the GPU tells the monitor to refresh doesn't mean that the actual display panel isn't capped at a theoretical 60 Hz or 120 Hz or whatever.

120hz should be super mainstream already, 60hz is bad. Not only for games, 120hz is just light years smoother than 60fps on any desktop work.

The point is that it can refresh the screen 120 times per second if GPU can push that amount of frames. Edit: Quote fail, already explained above... But anyway... Personally I would be happy even if the maximum refresh rate would be 75 Hz (like in my current display). But I don't think that I could go back to 60 Hz.
