Not a bad looking monitor at all. Specifications are good enough for most gamers.

Will wait for the reviews but I like the look of this a lot. This would be a replacement for my 120hz 1080 monitor. I have a nice dell ips next to it for watching stuff on. I have tried a few of the cheap ips 1440 panel for gaming and they are horrid. I guess I am just used to 120hz panel now. Pricey but hopefully good.

120hz, 1440p at LAST. Gsync is a bonus. Problem is, I anticipate 4k/120hz Gsync panels 'aint far off (I guess we're waiting on a connection standard hich can handle it?). Hmmmmz... still, progress at last. CDJay

I take it the $800 price tag is normal for such a monitor then? :P

Yeah the only thing that it would do at the moment would be 2 a DP 1.2 not sure how that would work.

Probably a bit high but to finally get a 1440p panel with 120+hz for gaming has been a LONG time in coming.

sorry for my question , but 120 Hz means it can convert 3D ? I am a bit confused ! All in one , this monitor is perfect for my 2014 Christmas ... if I will have a job by then ! Also , I don't see any spec on the panel . What is it ? IPS or TN as I think G-Sync only works with TN ! ???

This looks really good... hope guru3d will review this monitor

Not really. FreeSync Notice the name? Hopefully we won't need Nvidia and it's proprietary hardware. Your monitor already seems to be able to do this already for free.

Damn, id love to replace my Samsung SA950 for that bad boy.

lol overpriced wow.....or you could buy a Qnix Korean monitor for basically 1/3 of the price and get a Samsung lps panel that overclocks to 96-120hz and ur done...a lot of people have already been runnin 1440p 120hz for sometime now..this monitor is late and way overpriced even with gsync..... anyways I guess if u havto have name brand stuff enjoy lol

Simply overpriced and and behind imo....1440p should be a standard already but we are stuck on 1080p...I made the swap to a Korean 1440p pnael that overclocks and its been awesome....I wouldnt touch a 800$ 1440p pnael with a 20foot pole what a fukin rip offffffffffffffffffff

Dang, now I've got a problem. New monitor is planned for this year, but now which ? 1440p 16:9 120 Hz Gsync 27", or 1440p 21:9 34" without the other bells&whistles. I guess I'll throw a coin once both are out.....

IPS or TN as I think G-Sync only works with TN ! ???
No, G-Sync is panel type agnostic; it can be used on any panel types. Entirely depends on monitor manufacturers whether they want to use IPS or cutting corners with a TN, then slap a hefty price tag for early adopters.

ASUS today announced the ROG SWIFT PG278Q. The SWIFT PG278Q features a 27-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, fast 120+ Hz refresh rate, 1 ms response time, full range ergonomic adjustments, ASUS Game... ASUS ROG SWIFT PG278Q G-SYNC Gaming Monitor
I will take a 24 inch version, but only after the prices come way way down I dont want my monitor to be that big nor would i want something that big 2 feet away from my face. besides 24inch with that res thing would be pretty, atlest till things start moving fast and get ruined by the flaws of lcd/led tech

overpriced in my view...

I do not mind looking at my 144Hz TN panel. It was way cheaper than this and yes it only 1080p. Sorry my ASUS $230 vs. this one at $800, I will keep this for quite a while. Hell this way I know I will get more life from my video cards anyways. Stuff is just so overpriced any more. Even with all the technology advancement and mass production. Not only that but at the rate that these current games are released broken, and the poor quality of most games released. (BF4) I am slowing down in my upgrade purchases. Just because they look a little better does not mean they are a better game. honestly most of them suck anymore!!

4K Monitor with G-Sync NVIDIA Shows Modified ASUS PQ321Q 4K Monitor with G-Sync
But at the NVIDIA booth at CES this year the company was truly showing off G-Sync technology to its fullest capability. By taking the 3840x2160 ASUS PQ321Q monitor and modifying it with the same G-Sync module technology we were able to see variable refresh rate support in 4K glory. Obviously you can't see much from the photo above about the smoothness of the animation, but I can assure you that in person this looks incredible. In fact, 4K might be the perfect resolution for G-Sync to shine as running games at that high of a resolution will definitely bring your system to its knees, dipping below that magical 60 Hz / FPS rate. But when it does with this modified panel, you'll still get smooth game play and a a tear-free visual experience.
