Ye that hit in the sensitive point 21:9 monitors. Same reason I call PG348Q a "Toy" - for now. If their size grow significantly, and resolution aswell, mby then it will be good solution for all type of use. But for now its far to early to be universal tool, not toy.
This my friend is what an opinion sounds like. Its already a good solution for people to do all types of work, so not sure why you think it isn't.. Curved or non-curved, doesnt matter. they are great for Audio production, game and graphic design, gaming, and any other kind of work you could think of. Far from just a toy.. Sorry, I just don't think your position is based in reality that you could or would label it as a "toy". A toy right now is VR.. THAT is the toy.. not ultrawide man.

Sorry.. I don't touch curved screens in generall - they are good sometimes.. Ultrawide is fine feature (i'm not against it) but today technology can't make it properly. Also price range (compare for other solutions) is pathetic IMO. Do You tried difference betwen 3840x2160/3440x1440? I'm glad are You happy from Your choice anyway 🙂 That is about - be satisfied and happy!

Oh I'm definitely happy, I mean I was happy with the 27" 1440p I had before as well. But my workflow is no doubt improved now due to not being a "multimonitor" kind of guy and prefering the space all in one display. I certainly don't want to come across as someone who is arguing for the sake of "my investment".. I realize its a lot of money and that my particular model display is expensive, but you can get 29" 21:9 displays for as cheap as $500 which are great! The argument of price being pathetic doesn't make much sense to me.. for the reason I just mentioned, and also because people are willing spend upwards for 6-7-800 on a single graphics card, nevermind the rest of a new system. Hell I purchase top of the line MacBook pros at work weekly, and those are over 3K CAD a pop. How do you mean they "can't make it properly".. could you elaborate on your position a bit? maybe I'm missing something.

I see people mention this comment a lot and honestly it makes no sense at all. Would you get a VR headset to replace your TV? Likely not, so why is it any difference for a monitor? Would I wish to be spinning house music on a 21:9 ultrawide or wearing a headset AND headphones? Seriously. do people forget that monitors are used for more than just gaming? I dun even.
Did I say anywhere to replace all monitors and TV's with a VR headset? No? ok then lol read what I said before.. I'm referring to the PRICE factor and FOV, only reason I would buy a VR headset before purchasing THIS monitor. It would be silly to buy a VR headset and then get rid of your monitors and or TV 😉

Lot of you are mistakin this for 4k? This is not 4k. Graphic cards can handle this fine. Also I think this where the sweet spot is at between 4k and good looking and smooth playabilty. On a side note this monitor is still not avilable in the states. Im leaning towards acer x34.

Depends on what your definition of "handle" is. A single card is not able to single-handedly drive 3440x1440 all ultra at max refresh on an x34. My TI, even overclocked heavily, still can only get around 60 and sometimes less FPS in Witcher 3 for example at that resolution with 90% Ultra settings. If I wanna get up to 100fps, which is the max on the X34, the TI is simply put, not strong enough. Now, if you're setting 60fps as the limit, then yes, it can more or less, handle it.

Isn't this the same exact panel as the Acer Predator X34 with a different skin/company?

If only these things were cheaper...

I have the LG 34" curved "S" model. 3440x1440 res. Best damn monitor I've ever had . I just connected it to my PC with Display Port, selected the color temp to "cool" and that was it. I have no bleeding or backlight issues at all when gaming, and that's why I bought it. Gaming. Ultra Wide is the way to go if you're a gamer, in my opinion.

Screw all these 4k/120hz try-to-be's. I'll wait for the real deal thanks. Those monitors will likely come shortly after pascal cards are released.

Amazon is taking orders. Ordered mine yesterday. Acer variant has it's share of issues so I hope ASUS learned something and corrected some of those issues on their product. fingers crossed!
Can you link me to the amazon page you said you ordered this at? After some googling, I still have no idea where to buy this.
