Does this mean they'll be releasing an upgrade for the PQ321QE?

that's really pricy to put on top of the cost of the monitor itself.

You'll get a GPU with that kit right? Hilbert must have made a typo somewhere... 🙂

I have that exact ASUS monitor but $200 is crazy. I would maybe drop $100 on it, but no more.

I bought my VG248QE for 280$ including tax and thats Canadian $. G-sync for $200 is more than 2/3 of the price for the ENTIRE monitor... Not gonna buy it. Besides I use vsync off with 144hz and I really dont see much tearing if at all and the input lag is still lower, even though the difference isnt much. Maybe at $100... maybe... I still dont like losing my warranty.

$200 and we have to do all the work. Do I get a little suck suck with the part or something.Like will a Korean chick show up to my door with the part and give me a happy ending?

You can add its void the warranty too ..
did you just make this up?

not really, but it seems as you do the operation yourself and open the monitor, Asus is not responsible for the damage who can be caused on the monitor . (( Asus is not clear with that, but the question is actually in some jurnalist mouth, and the response is: Asus is not responsible for the damage caused... I admit it is not clear, and i know some friend reviewer are pushing Asus to respond them "definitively " about this.. for know they just said, " the initial warranty contract " is staying as it is. ( The problem is you remove the stickers who are on the screw, and this stickers removed void the warranty ).. If it dont void the warranty, i can imagine Asus will do an annonce soon. Actually the politic of Asus about this is really unclear..

Seriously, is that a joke? Are they kidding us? I'm going to ban again Asus and go back again to AMD. How this is supposed to be an UPGRADE kit? This is a huge downgrade kit. External power supply? Only displayport input? Warranty void? And they doubled the price too! And it's DIY or pay for servicing!! WTF? This lack of communication is ridiculous, they are always acting the same and never learning from previous mistakes. I will sell mine and wait to see if Freesync will ever see the light. Thank you ASUS, thank you Nvidia.

Its written directly on asus website that it voids warranty: http://rog.asus.com/297882014/news/vg248qe-g-sync-upgrade-kit-now-available/ "Please note: The VG248QE G-Sync user upgrade is unwarranted by ASUS. It’s entirely performed at your own risk and voids the VG248QE warranty, regardless if the fault is directly related to the G-Sync module or not. While we appreciate people want to upgrade their monitors at the earliest opportunity, for those who want the security of a warranty, the bigger ROG Swift PG278Q with G-Sync will be available in a couple of short months!"

Just watched the video on the mod and it looks like the G-sync device only leaves a display port. Also just verified that 3D does work in Display Port on the monitor so I would imagine the mod still enables 3D.

i would never disassemble this nice monitor to put this in .. .
