A most interesting review, some 12 years ago I bought a Dell U2711 IPS 27" 1440 60Hz screen and playing the Crysis games on it was an incredible experience. How 1440 screens have improved during the last 12 years! Two years ago I upgraded from the Dell to an Asus PG35VQ so I really like the Asus monitor styling and generally Asus are on it when it comes to gaming and non-gaming products. Their products are usually expensive but also very well designed & built, you pay an Asus tax just as you pay a Razer tax but no one has to.

1050$ is reasonably priced? With all due respect, I strongly disagree.

LOL ok. Perfect amount of refresh for snobby e sports players that 480p isnt good enough looking. For that price tag, you can get way better gaming monitors, IE Ultrawides and Superwides.

No it's not 'reasonably priced' but the current unreasonable price will come down just as the price of my Asus PG35VQ did just over two years ago when the Alienware OLED ultrawide was not available. I bought a new gaming PC in the Autumn of 2020 with a 3080 and my by then 10 year old Dell U2711 1440 60Hz screen couldn't do justice to my new rig so I bought the PG35VQ with a substantial discount in the Amazon Black Friday sale. It was still 'unreasonably priced' and of course I would have liked to have been able to buy the Alienware OLED Ultrawide.......

1) this would be a win at $650 but an utter fail @ $1k 2) LG 27" 1440p oled destroys this @ $1k and the 27" ROG oled destroys this at a bit more. 3) to achieve 360Hz @ 1440p also allows one to game over 100 Hz @ 4k... with 4k hdr 600 monitors being more plentiful and lower priced. the thing here is the 27" form factor which says "charge more" to the manufacturer. there are several 4k 120Hz+ TV's and monitors for less - incl. several oleds this is an E-Peen special for E-sports only and anyone who buys this without a subsidy is a chump.

But you get a beautiful illuminated logo on the back, which increases fps and reduces lag, that's got to count for something 🙄 🙄

Yeah I feel like the 360hz tax is way too high on this one. I have a corsair xeneon 32qhd165 and honestly I would rather have the 32 inch size and for the price I can buy 2 monitors instead of this Asus and the color, uniformity and all that is even better on my monitor then this.

Yup. Paying $1050 for a IPS panel is absolute lunacy. It's the same 1000:1 contrast ratio we had for like 15 years. Monitor market is even worse and more absurd than GPU market.

PS5/XBox and 50" QLED TV for the same price as one 1440p monitor?
