First of all, most of them do actually overclock to 120hz and every single one OCs to 96hz, which is very good as well. And for 300 bucks, it's a steal imo. Second, I've been a part of the overclock.net owners club thread for 2 years now and never heard or read anything about not being overclocked across the entire panel. Do you have a source for your statement?
I own two, neither one hits 120hz. Both do hit 96hz. But you would think if ASUS is selling a 120hz IPS panel they'd want ever single one to be guaranteed to hit 120hz and not some of them. That leads to sad customers, or increased costs. And yeah I guess I worded my sentence weird -- they do get 120hz across the entire panel but not all of them do it and leave the image quality unaffected. For example one of my Qnix does display an image at 120Hz but in the upper right portion of the screen there is a large block where the image artifacts heavily. I've read posts of people who here who can hit 120 but have various other issues, blurring and other stuff. IGZO is the only IPS tech that can basically guarantee 120Hz but up until now it was pretty costly.

Lag.... No interest in this. IPS is NOT for gaming. Deal with it...
5ms of delay? This is the recharge time for all the capacitors in your monitor to recharge. Your 60Hz display is forced to change the data that those capacitors are trying so hard to keep. So every 16.6ms will the capacitors be able to charge before that time is up? If not that's when you get those weird artifacts or ghosting. 120Hz is 8.3ms so in the end you won't even notice those capacitors recharging. That 5ms delay is not exactly concrete either it may be longer or shorter. But it's got a good 3.3ms of headroom. This whole thing about IPS panels being bad for gaming is probably due to slower panels in the past. I've seen panels that have upwards to 30ms delay. Which is definitely longer than 16.6ms so your gonna notice it in fast moving scenes. When I got this LG 2560x1600@60Hz monitor back in 2010 had 8 to 20ms of delay. This LG panel was the fastest at 5ms. If your going to worry about delay. Take a look at your RAM. 16GB. Billions of capacitors that need to be recharged. Your RAM? It probably takes about 120ns (nanoseconds) to recharge each row of cells. Of which there are millions. Your RAM causes on the order of magnitudes longer delay than that monitor. If you would have bought 8GB? Well probably around half the time. And it doesn't cause a slight delay or ghosting, no the whole system comes to a grinding halt. There are many and bigger bottlenecks in your computer than an IPS panel 5ms delay. Don't worry though a lot of these developers that make the games don't even know about how the computer works. Which is why we get these poorly running games. Why? Well because the programmers who know how the computer works costs a lot more and not only that but it takes more time to develop. But way off-topic.
