Mate, that's just the engineering/testing unit. There's no way they would release it as final product in this state, clearly they want to compact down all the components to fit in closer size to what you can see in the second picture.

Wouldn't surprise me at this point. And this is stupid and hilarious at the same time.

I have to wonder what penalties it will bring other than space constraint. Fingers crossed it works well enough.

The idea is good but in practise makes little sense.

If it comes to 20-40 bucks will allow people to forget the 500+ 4800 c40 ram costs and also rise the middle finger to sculpers that gobbling up and selling the decent kits for up to or even more than 1000 .... Hell i will open champagne if i see articles about sculpers loosing their homes having to sell things with huge losses !

Hopefully from very little to none.

Good solution for when you can't sell motherboards due to ram shortages.

Strangely I didnt receive an alert you quoted me. Its been reported to hopefully find how this can happen, it could affect anyone should they unsub from a thread but still want to know if there is a direct reply to a post. ps This happened before but forgot to report the issue so this is the first time.

They can't even get 4 sticks of DDR5 to work together with XMP turned on so I have very little faith that they can get a converter to work either.

it is kinda sad that this kind of thing is necessary

That looks a bit big doesn't it? I wonder what performance impact we're looking at. At the right price that's an interesting product for sure!

Wrong! Show me a 4x ddr5 kit that doesn't work at xmp 😉 Like Corsair 4x 4400 ddr5 kit....

i quoted you and edit you in the response so i will not double post maybe that's why you did not get notified ? And editing in quotes afterwards is something i do often-ish , i guess i can try and stop that habit i had no clue people might not get notified of the quote

Considering the JEDEC speed is 4800mhz for DDR5, if you're running 4x DDR5 sticks at 4400mhz then you're underclocking your sticks. XMP is technically overclocking, so if you turned that on with DDR5 you'd be trying to go higher than the JEDEC speed of 4800mhz.
