Are they using the same cooler as 4080/4090? But why?

so it appears the 7900XT is the best 800$ GPU for the "value" sans DLSS3. Hopefully AMD can pull a "FSR3" rabbit out of their hat.

7900xt performance for $100 less. still, no chance it will sell well.

Decent card, but terrible price.

cost per frame is about the same in rasterization link removed while 4070Ti wins RT even with 7900XTX

Appears to be slightly smaller when comparing photos. The 4080 has 3 full length vents at the PCI bracket, while the 4070 Ti has 2. It's also shorter by about 2CM.

Nah - same shroud and fans, but the actual heatsink is substantially reduced, as evident in the weight of the 4070 ti strix vs 4090 strix.

Surely considering the heat output, weight, and costs... would it not be far better and maybe cheaper to buy the cheapest 4070Ti (even reference), remove the cooler and add in a GPU AIO?

You should always get a cheap version of gpu's, unless you are buying the biggest model aka 4090. Then it sorta makes sense getting a premium version. I roll my eyes when i see someone buying a 4080 strix, when they could have gotten a cheap 4090 for only a few bucks more, for what is a SUBSTANTIALLY better gpu.

That would be like €400 more here in my country. That certainly is not a few bucks + there is also the PSU in consideration.

In denmark the 4080 strix is 13600 dkk, while the cheapest 4090 is 14800 dkk. The cheapest 4080 is 11000 dkk, but even at that price it's pretty bad value. The launch price for 4070 ti, however, is 7000 dkk, which is much more fair. As for psu, ofc there is a difference in requirements, but it's honestly not that big of a deal.

How on earth did this even get the award of "Top Pick".....

almost 7900XT performance for $100 less. 7900XT blows past it in 4K where you can have more texture packs (almost 12Gb being for Far Cry) still if you game @1400p... for a high end system...if you love RT this isn't a bad card. just expensive.

exactly. just buy the least expensive 4080
https://forums.guru3d.com/data/avatars/m/56/56686.jpg
such ridiculous price 4070ti is better then 3080ti in most cast and more then 3080ti. fast ward to next gen 5060ti till be faster then 4070ti and cost 899$. i get gaming has always been luxary, these prices go well beyond that and and beyond inflation. bet the 4060ti is gona be 699$ that 360$ 3060 12gb look might nice for price, but not much gain imo from my card expect for DLSS/RT stuff. I really am torn I want new gpu but fs I can i buy my self new cpu/mb/ram/psu/hs/ and case for price for 4070ti, which in end wont do much for 1070ti i have. i DSR most games to 1440p these days. but seriously I super glad i got my ps5 anyone defending these prices arnt living in really world where alot people just struggling cost everything i go up but your pay check isnt. that or they have more money then they know what do with it, or no family or or this stuff is bought for them. these prices are ridiculous

As said, you'd be an idiot for buying a strix version of anything other than the 4090.

Aesthetically, I am more attracted by the MSI SuprimX product design. From what I gathered in the review, it's roughly 70% performance of 4090 at 4K without RT, and 55% with RT for half the price. With inflation and people struggling to put food on the table, they're already targeting a limited number of people by sticking to their "prestige premium" pricing strategy. 1000 euros dedicated to your 3D entertainment leisure time, if people already 'flipped the switch' to spend that much, they might go for the 4080/4090 straight. If I weren't using it for work i would probably stick to 500-600euros GPUs, which is already a lot, 3060-Ti seems more than enough given the GPU-shootout.
