290 is the best choice currently among all cards imo, given you're on 6000 series or even older GPU. I'm not familiar with ASUS GPUs, though. Can't have opinion.

I had bad luck with an AMD 7970 from ASUS. Hope you guys have better luck than me the DCU2 cooler is top notch.

Totally agree about the 290, I jumped on one swapping out my 2x5870's and the performance boost is excellent. The only ASUS product I've owned is my motherboard, and so far it has lasted me 5 years with zero problems! I'm 100% satisfied with it, and when I do finally upgrade (in the next 2yrs or so), I'll probably stick with a mobo from ASUS because I've been so pleased with this P6T Deluxe V2 🙂
