75hz, 1080p, TN? Really?

Low refresh FreeSync is particularly senseless combination because half of the time you'll be hitting that upper refresh limit and tearing. Especially at 1080.

I mean, it's a $200 monitor....what exactly are you expecting?

For $200 USD in 2017... an IPS.

I wonder if all these bull**** marketing terms ever fool anyone into buying a monitor they otherwise wouldn't. Instant Input Technology? Gamefast? What now?

FreeSync when its ON does not tear at full framerate - that is what an Adaptive Sync suppose to do without Vsync stutter, it fixes both of these problems at the same time.

When its cheap - YES, not everyone around the world is able to just go and buy 1440p 144hz IPS G-sync - some of ppl would have to sell their liver first
And at least 27"
I just checked in my shops its 823 PLN I bought 27" 75Hz FS for 970 PLN its cheaper, does not have to be 27

That's a $149.99 monitor if I ever saw one. You can get 24" 75Hz Freesync for $120-$140.

For one, you two are nuts. Specifically the 27 inch. For two, not everyone wants the inferior IPS tech known as IPS glow central with horrid blacks. I would not touch an IPS screen with a 10 foot pole.

I'd take IPS over TN any day, when you're buying a budget monitor (which this is, despite the price) you have to expect drawbacks. Not everyone can afford to put down $900 on a monitor. As for the 27" comment, I wouldn't touch a 1080p monitor above 24" personally. If you want bigger screen real estate you need to aim for a higher resolution, for 27" the sweet spot would be 1440p. You can get away with 1080p on larger TVs as you don't sit directly in front of them.

Except the price IS budget.... Are people lost in 2017? Monitors below $250 are budget monitors, below $150 are ultra-budget monitors. Or have people forgotten the monitors people generally "want" (hence the non-budget monitors) are generally $400-1500....

Again, not everyone. I mean, it's completely fine that people do, but to expect all monitors to be IPS or bust is a bit nonsense, especially at $200. I have the original ROG swift monitor, and have been disappointed ever since that most monitors after it have been IPS, as i will absolutely not do that horrid IPS glow. For some people, like me, you have no idea how much of a problem it is. I will not use my wifes monitor, which is IPS. I will not use her PC, ever. If i had to, i would bring in my $150 from 2009 1080p TN 22" monitor to replace her 27" 1440p IPS if i had to use her PC. The IPS glow does not bother her, which is great, but nope, nope and absofrickenlutely no.

I'm not sure I'd want to use terms like "ultra-budget" personally, I'm of a mind that once you're hitting $200-250 you should be able to get something more middle of the road. I can understand preferences regarding panel types also, I get why some people dislike IPS and the reasons are totally valid for them. I was more addressing the "nuts" comment in honesty, it's fair enough if you prefer one over the other.

Why? I've seen 24" IPS monitors for $200 in Canada before, I'm sure there have to be options at $200 USD. I'm pretty picky and I don't notice the IPS glow unless I look at the very edge of the corners on pure black. I honestly would never consider a TN as an option.

Like this one. Looks like a typical low-budget monitor to me. It's 24", 1080p, 75Hz, 6-bit TN. If that's not low-budget, I don't know what is :-/
