CPU tests at higher resolutions kinda defeats the purpose since it moves the bottleneck towards the GPU instead. CPU performance is unaffected by resolution changes. That G4560 won't be able to push more than 43,5 FPS whether in 720p or 4k.

Oh i don't know, try because the Intel CPU has between 600-900MHz clock speed advantage? This depends on how they configured the Intel platform and if they have enabled all core clock? Of if you look at the X1920 vs the 8700K theres a 1300MHz clock speed increase yet the X1920 is within 3-4% of the 8700K. It's ok i don't give a Duck about any game Ubisoft publishes anyway , i CBA to pirate them tbh , now i just buy the game's i like and don't have BS copyright stuff that eat's CPU cycles. So yeah i will NEVER buy a game from Ubisoft or EA like ever , one is a pile of crap optimization copyright infested BS the other is the mother of DLC's

Sure, although they are two different classes of CPU's ones a work station and the other is a consumer, but the point i was making is that the game can make alot of use of the threads. Who buys a Threadripper just for gaming?

TBH the 1800x should be @ least equal to the i7 8700k if that game knew how to propper use all the power the 1800x has.

That might be because of double anti-piracy protection that allegedly eats 40% of CPU usage alone and causes performance issues.

it could also be cause it AC game and there now for be released before there finished. and patches being as big as the initial download, I look at you ac:unity i still think it chalk up which as worse unity release or batman:arkham knight release.

This is Ubisoft montreal we are talking about, you could go fetch them a graphene processor from the future and they will still manage to make it choke with 4 year old console ports. Consoles can´t even manage to handle anything close as many threads as an old i5 750, despite having 8 cores, good ports use a ton more threads than console versions and fly in potato pc´s.

either way the person that buys the game is one that suffers from this now double drm crap. when it get cracked the people that pirated the game wont bat an eye at it cause it wont be there to cause issues. ubisoft is shitty company like ea and if double drm becomes thing from others. i just dont what to say to that, cause DRM have NEVER stoped piracy, just effect people that buy games No DRM should be effecting performance by more then 1% let alone 30/40% Denvuo protected games have not been installed on my system and they wont be, I have Duex ex:md waiting to be installed but till that stuff is removed it wont be , i dont want DRM effecting my games performance

The fact that I7-8700 is so much faster than 7700K tells that. Also how do you think 1800X with less single threaded performance is able to keep up with 7700K's higher clockspeed, if not by it's additional threads? Though the mention that game benefits from additional 8+ threads is a bit cliche, as most games nowadays do. Gaming cpu performance is all about getting efficiency to your critical threads. In DX9-11 , and OpenGL surroundings these are your main game logic thread, and driver thread. The faster your cpu can execute additional threads, the faster game logic gets to parse that data, and send it forward to sound and driver threads to process them futher (to gpu and sound card). I7-7700K's case efficiency of total clockspeeds towards game logic is simply less, as the thread simply needs to wait for other data to be executed longer.
Sure, but the 1800X is also much faster than the 7700K. The title implies that CPU scaling is good in this game when in reality the first 4-6 cores seem to have a good impact impact after which scalability drops massively. Not completely, which is a good step forwards, but mostly. That's what I'm picking at. This game doesn't scale much differently from other modern games.

If you actually paused to understand my post instead of quickly trying to be a smartass by using misguided irony; you'd realize I was inferring that by the headline this article sounds like the game scales well with more cores. The fact that the 7700k (4c/8t) is at the same performance level as the 1800X (8c/16t) completely dismantles that; especially if we consider the fact that the 1800X completely destroys the 7700k in raw power even without SMT. The fact that a 16-core/32-thread processor manages to almost jab at a 6c/12t processor's performance is interesting and a good step forward, but at the same time further illustrates my point. Like I said in a different quote, this game doesn't scale much differently compared to other modern games.

He's got a point. Sandy bridge is only now starting to be a bottleneck, after 6 long years. Intel have been sitting on their asses.

Kinda missed a boat there, ThreadRipper is not enjoying Origins like it should. Core scaling isn't working well and 1950X's can't even run the game without disabling quad channel memory or cutting core count in some way... Shitty code is shitty. As usual from Ubifail, regardless of whether it's the DRM or not.
