well it's about frickin time 10gbit lan ports were added. Now the only problem is no standard consumer routers have 10gbit ports. Have to buy some incredible expensive corporate type router to get the speed

Finally! I've been looking forward to this kind of board 🙂 Sadly 10GB routers/switches are still MANY times more expensive than this board :S

Assuming that fan ain't not too loud, this might be a worthy replacement for my aging X58 rig.

so have 10gbs equipment or enterprise enviroment X99 WS-E/10G else i think just get X99 WS-E not sure how much 10G would cost, but seems it possible up to around $100 or even more

sure... but on other hand it is for pro... If you have only "normal" lan then you have the "normal" ASRock X99 WS (very good too btw). Since ASRock have no more thing to do with ASUS, it goes inovative and reliable (wich is very important for WS and pro) )... Their independence is all benefit.

Im glad I just upgraded my network at home, Using some netgear 10G Base switch, Tho my router still using 1G lan, but most of my systems all connected to the switch, Just wish rampage would have 10g lan port. would be really awesome for data transfer from my server. Oh well, still early days.

Lol that asrock board has 2plx chips with 10g lan. Expect to pay $900 Much better than the rampage 5 extreme

Asrock thinking for a near future. Not need copper cable to the street swich. Copper will be connection in very short line between optical to copper IO adapter and PC. In distances of decimal inches copper cables have no problem with 10Gb/s speed.

The reviewer on Anandtech says it could be from 800-900 bucks and available this month!
