Not bad at all! It's too small for me but I'm sure a lot of people would like the smaller version! Hope the iPad "4" or new-new iPad would be lighter .. it's my only complaint with the current model.

It is only $80 cheaper and has a bigger screen, albeit a lower res. Still too expensive though, but if Apple products weren't overpriced then less people would buy Android tablets, so it's good to have more choice in the market.

Was never a fan of 4:3 res :P and with $80 you can buy another SSD! Then again I have a 256GB coming this week 😀

The screen res should of beenm somewhere between the Nexus7 and the 9.7inch iPad. It's not that much smaller a screen as well, but only has 25% of the resolution of its bigger brother. I really like the normal iPad and think it's the best tablet out at the moment, but i don't like this at all.

I think Apple should have released the iPad Mini with a resolution of at least 1280x800 personally as that 4:3 display is going to be awful for watching movies on, most of which are widescreen. Also browsing is much nicer on widescreens as it gives you more viewable space to the left and right. The iPad Mini isn't even technically HD (neither is the iPhone 5 for that matter). 4:3 displays are so 1998 IMO. I'm not impressed at all. Like all Apple products, they look nice and are well-designed but always overpriced and not necessarily better than cheaper options on the market. It'll still sell millions though, I'm sure.

The iPad Mini has the same resolution than the iPad 2. This will make all iPad 2 apps compatible right away. For all the Joe Blow out there having iTune apps this is far more important than a slightly better resolution on such a small display. This is actually a good move imo.
