No one should be made fun of for their hobbies, but, there is a point where that hobby approaches an unhealthy level. If you struggle to afford it, or, if it becomes enough of an obsession that it ruins other aspects of your life, it's not a hobby anymore: it's an addiction. For those who have money to burn and a real life outside their hobby, there's no harm in splurging once in a while. While nobody has the right to tell you how to spend your own money, there is a point where what you spend (whether money or time) on a hobby says something about you as a person; not necessarily something negative, but that usually would be the case. I would argue some people on these forums straddle the line where their hobbies are detrimental in some way. I am not making any implications about those on this thread.

hobbies and lifestyles are personal choices made by (typically) informed consent that "retards" literally cannot make.
yes i know it was meant with an alternate meaning of rube or sucker but it's a VERY charged word that would get you banned from some forums.
and i'm a person that has spent large sums, particularly in the days of SLI - where i ran my SLI watercooled.
am i happy that single card solutions rule the day? you bet. especially when 1080p @ 60Hz was high end.
i buy my GPUs based on the monitor i'm running them on (or about to buy).
if i was "richie rich" i would still buy the GPU based on the monitor
and to be brutally honest, if there were no 4k 120Hz+ monitors on the market i'd flame $1K too
but there are MANY 4k 120Hz + TV/Monitors on the market.

PC gaming enthusiasts are by definition pathetic losers (myself included), at least Neo is not shy about admitting it.

Call it what you like, but at least try be accurate with the words. Calling out those who allow the market to be a dumpster fire isn't pathetic, those who are afraid to call it out are pathetic/cowardly; the kind that avoid sounding at all semi-offensive at any cost, even if the result is people continuing to do stupid shit. You can call it losing, I call it winning.
