How is that even possible ffs didnt the amd and nvidia ceo said pricing will improve in 2022? Some of us will end up waiting forever for a new gpu.

Better get that 6800xt now then. As if prices weren't already over the top. Now TSMC wants their share.

intel has their own fab it's not good news for those who want a new ryzen expensive node, expensive cache design,on top of the already high amd prices ryzen 5 starting at 350eur ?

When one fab (TSMC) raises prices, the others will do the same. In a tight market no one remains priced lower than competition.

not seeing any information about that. what I do know is that building a zen4/ddr5 rig will be super expensive, we keep hearing that it's always good to wait, but better get an alder lake+ddr4 now imo.

6500XT: 1080p + RSR gaming sounds pretty good 😀

Better than nothing i guess. Would rather buy a used 1070/1080 for that price.

From business point of view I reckon covid was one of the best that could happen to chip manufacturers. Thanks, but no thanks.

Maybe things will change in late 2023 or in 2024 when new fabrication plants begin operations. It's of course also assuming people stop dreaming of easy money by investing in crypto and on the other hand politicians stop accepting dirty money from criminals and force crypto to be either traceable or illegal. Otherwise nothing will change, ever.

20%, 40% it doesn't matter at this point. Those that couldn't do it recently still won't be able to justify it, so keep on bumping up the price. Fortunately, there will come a time when the bubble will burst but by the time that happens there will be a new normal associated with pc's and pc gaming. Enjoy what you reap AMD, NVIDIA.

Just another nail in the coffing for us / normal costumer . Never wanted to admit it ... But PC as a hole and PC gaming is fking dead if this continues .

Yeah, exactly. Ask Amazon how it was for their business too. Then ask yourself if many of the most powerful people in the world had this thing "happen" that was great for their bottom lines if that thing just organically happened or maybe it had some help. Or maybe they just took full advantage. Either way, it's fishy. As for CPU and GPU prices, you better believe if there is a way to take advantage of a situation to increase pricing they will do it and they will ride that situation until they are forced to get off. I would expect these price hikes in the last few years to be almost permanent.

Can't wait for review in PCIE 3.0 😀. Those poor folks who get it for their "older " machine hoping for decent 1080p performance , resulting im massive tears and disappointment.

Sadly they will too, there is lack of copper, gold, silver, silicium and nickel, so the price are rising nearly as fast as crypto 🙁 it's a bad news for them and it will be bad news for us with the domino effect. As intel use the same ressource, it will be affected too, despite previous announcement.

Wars and pandemics always make (most of) the rich even richer. Nothing new there. As for this - as far as CPUs go, old advice still holds - wait for Zen 4 and Raptor Lake - worst that can happen is you will end up buying Alder Lake at or below its MSRP.

Amazon isn't a good exemple, during COVID on worldwide point, it have done less than concurence in a lot of country... It's good, but not exeptional as other have done.
