I wish F1 was more popular in the US..... As it is, I have to search for Youtube videos to see any F1 races. None of the cable channels I get ever shows F1 when I'm awake, unless I end up being awake all night like tonight.... Where is AMD getting the money to sponsor an F1 car? Have their profits increased that much already?

I think it's cool that AMD want to sponsor motorsport in general, but F1 has been decaying for the past 12 years because of FIA's "green" engine, fuel and tire regulations.

They stopped with AMD sponsorship in 2014, the same time those new ugly noses and really slim rear wings appeared.

Would be nice if AMD could make a GPU to compete with Nvidia high end GPU's and you know have it in stock at MSRP... guess that is also too much to ask of them since 2014... 😏 but hey more power to race car drivers... I guess. well back to nvidia I go, its been fun

It's funny that a few years ago all the "financial analysts" on tech forums were predicting AMD's bankruptcy no matter what, even if Zen worked. And here we are now. AMD is pissing money down the toilet on an F1 sponsorship (this is coming from an F1 fan) and moving into better offices.

Shame F1 is garbage nowdays. I rarely bother to watch it last couple of years. Most of the time i have it on in the background incase something non-yawning happens. I bet 2018 is gonna be a whole lot of Tire and Fuel Saving again, as well as a ton of DRSing to drive by without a challenge. And i almost forgot the Penalties to decide a race! Good thing we have the spectacle that is MotoGP.

Ferrari lost a major sponsor after Santander left. (around 40M per year) Now they need any money if they want to be competitive.
