It's quite important to emphasize that "up to" part. Some people will see that 45% and immediately declare mantle a "fail" the first time the performance difference drops to 44% or less if there isn't an emphasis on the "up to" part of that statement.

those fools should be ignored, easy. I'm expecting general of around 20% average, hopefully 20% minimum framerate boost.

The sad thing with Mantle is that it's AMD-Exclusive. Globally-available low-level console-like access might result in different game design, as stated on Mantle presentation. Nonetheless, John Carmack said that similar level of performance regarding draw calls, can be achieved with optimized OpenGL code. I also wonder, why did they decide to name their 16-core server CPU "Warsaw". I'm looking around thinking why this particular city.

The OpenGL optimisations I believe are only for NVIDIA, and I doubt they'd provide similar gains. I think the claim is to take some of the focus off AMD. The OpenGL gains are more likely attributed to general efficiency gains in optimisation techniques, such as similar principles to anisotropy optimisation that improves performance with minimal quality loss, than fixing the underlying cause of the issue. NVIDIA are welcome to Mantle, will they take it? Probably not due to snobbery, at least unless Mantle is picked up by even more engines and developers.
Oh here we go pointing fingers... If you want to do this, guess what? AMD also turned down Nvidia when it came to Physx and helping to fix their drivers when they were in dire need. I've used both camps, and saw the unneeded drama from both. Of course both sides will refuse each other.....it's competition. Pointing fingers and trying to use that as leverage in an argument is retarded when both camps are guilty of this practice.

I have yet to see proof of Nvidia offer help / PhysX to AMD. I have yet to see proof of AMD offer Mantle to Nvidia. People should stop stating baseless rumour.

Yes like the BS in every new beta driver release where they say "up to 20% faster in BF4" so if you count all the previous drivers means they actual final WQ driver should be 300% faster than the last one!...
