I prefer 8-pin connectors. When the 12-pin is throughoutly tested (and improved) by customers, companies and the organization behind it alike, then I feel safe with it. 🙂
If this is the only thing that they can throw at Nvidia....bad signs for actual reviews.
Not really they already came out that their GPUs compete with 4080. So what can they actually throw at Nvidia. They also are losing on the node so eh.
Only thing they have is price

They also are WHAT ? Only price ? 4nm vs 5nm is a losing battle ? Go fight the 12 pin power connector on another forum please
Amusing that everyone becomes a judge when the product is not even release nor tested....

Well just stating facts. AMD has pretty much themselves said they are aiming at 4080. They are on N5 instead of N4 on nvidia so they have a disadvantage there already. Not a big one but still. They will be good in raster as per usual but for sure lose in RT, while still doing good in general. Price is their biggest game this round for sure not raw performance.
Also fight what a connector what are you rambling about?
I remember Polaris cards burning out PCI-E power pins in certain scenarios, pulling more power than the spec. It was VERY rare and only on cheap motherboards, but still - stones and glass houses.
As for the 7000 series cards, AMD doesn't really need to beat nVidia on raw performance, as long as the price/perf ratio is good. I'm more interested in how well the chiplet design is going to work for AMD. Maybe we'll see a dedicated die for RT in the future.
AMD's pettiness sure is attractive to certain crowd 😀.
I'm getting flashbacks from "Poor Volta" and "The Fixer" era of AMD, looks like AMD went back to being childish when they know they can't compete
Can't compete? 7900 XTX is $1000 GPU and its performance most likely will be between 4080 ($1200) and 4090 ($1600)
Imagine what will happen when they will release 3D cache versions sometime next year.. I just wish they were releasing them quicker but I guess they wanna sell 6000 series lol
Before you say I'm a red fanboy, I have 3090 and I'm waiting on my 4090 to arrive soon 😀
Yes I broke my promise not to go over 400w for a GPU, but I plan to under volt it or just power limit it at 90% so it will never take more than 390w 😛

with 1/2 the RT performance of 4090, 7900XTX should be 800usd

It's fan service for their hard core base. Trying to mobilise them to buy 1000$ cards although they always complained about Nvidia's prices when cards were 1k+.
All this marketing fuzz is starting to become boring after decades... I wish they'd finally come up with a really good marketing beef between the two of them. Or three, once Intel realizes who they are competing with.

People are making too much about this stuff. On both sides.
It's not like brands never poke fun at each other. And it can be funny.

Exactly, I still remember the CEO of nVidia making fun of AMD for including 16GB of VRAM in Radeon 7 for customers (gamers), then shortly after they released 3090 with 24GB of VRAM also for customers.. xD
Eh big, rich companies and their fights.
Pure cringe
