Is that the magic combination we're waiting for from AMD?

The way u make that sound is like the FX naming magically makes it better. I would very much like to see a x6 of this with more cache, core for core i think the APU's were slightly better anyways and moving these to 28nm though still behind intel is still a nice considering the price difference.

If it's Kaveri derived, it's "technically" a quad core, whereas all previous parts are "dual core with hardware hyperthreading" as I understand it. The Kaveri modules had some bits added which effectively make them dual-cores, whereas the previous ones only had 1 integer processor or something that made them kinda sucky on single-threaded workloads.

AMD needs to clarify things with OS producers because every Athlon X4 shows up as 2 cores / 4 threads in task manager (atleast windows 7 and windows 8). Are theese CPUs dual cores with "AMD hyper threading" ?? I have the Athlon 760k and it shows up as a dual core in Windows 8.
Every one I've seen shows up properly. Since all AMD processors contain physical cores and those physical cores only process a single thread, they won't show up as "2core/4thread".

You can't have a core, without an integer unit. The integer unit itself, is the core.

It was something core related anyway that makes Kaveri better than the previous chips.

Would love to see how the 860K performs. Might a nice budget gaming CPU. Unless the 8320E runs on Micro ATX AM3+ boards.

Kaveri is based on Steamroller, whereas Trinity and Richland were based on Piledriver. Steamroller has slightly better IPC and a better iGPU.
