Text is repeated on the Vegas page: "We added a new software title to the benchmark suit, Magix Vegas Pro. This professional video editing software Vegas Pro is a video editing software package for non-linear editing. Originally developed as an audio editor, it eventually developed into an NLE for video and audio from version 2.0. I'm a little confused - despite that the latency SHOULD be worse than AM4 CPUs (more cores, more CCXs, more memory channels, bigger cache, etc resulting in slower synchronization) somehow, TR manages to outpace AM4 in latency-sensitive tasks like games. And then there are the lower core voltages. Not sure what AMD did but somehow they managed to squeeze a noteworthy amount of performance out of effectively the same architecture. I wonder if the power tables can be modified to help improve idle power consumption. I agree that ~100W is pretty high for idle. I also appreciate Hilbert stressing who the target demographic is. Should hopefully be a good reality check for some people. It's a bit weird seeing an AMD product get the "Top Pick" award.
Better silicon? I believe AMD said that Epyc and TR were getting the best of it.

Am i crazy, or am i not able to see the results of thermals? what page are they on?

Very nice to see this kind of performance out of TR. Between that and Ryzen hopefully we'll start to see some actual competition in the CPU market again.

But i don't see any results there? Unless the snapshot of HWINFO is the results?
Go to the page and then try hit the refresh button on your browser. I believe that Guru3D's servers are stressed right now as I had to refresh the pages several times too. I even got SQL server errors :S

Awesome review as always Hilbert , absolutely fantastic read. Thank you for the in depth review ! Mouth watering performance , marvelous piece of technology 1950X is ( With Joda's voice ๐Ÿ˜€ ) . I'm really impressed by all the performance it offers at this price range. Well soldered big IHS = no heat issues ,64 pciX 3,0 lanes , quad channel memory. Performance it's way much better than anticipated for a 32 thread beast at with a low heat signature even when overclocked , win right there and deserves a lot of merit. Let the price to performance / More Cores war begin. AMD wins definitely and swept the floor this round with Intel. R.I.P Intel !

There's text under the shot as well. A load temp of 56C for a 16C/32T CPU looks pretty darn good to me ๐Ÿ˜€.

I'm not sure that's the issue, though i could be wrong. If there's more then 3 photos/graphs there, then i guess i'm not getting them. All i see is: The wattage graph between programs A picture of the stress test, which does give 83 degrees (or 56 degrees, but 56 degrees as a high? If that's true, that's crazy!) And a photo explaining the temperature offset.

And if that's all there is to it, 1. That's CRAZY! Sheesh lol, and 2. I guess i just expected more to it, considering a ton of people were wondering how the temperatures would be compared to Intel lol

I won't be so though. Some people gladly cash up double the money for a CPU even if all they do is playing games.

So with much higher number of cores and frequency it's still on pair with performance of 7900X that priced on same level. Yet 7900X still outperforms it in most games. Are we still going to hear tales about dual-core optimized games?

Thank You Hilbert for the time and effort great review as always ๐Ÿ™‚ Finally AMD is truly back ๐Ÿค“

Awesome performance for the money. Great review H and fantastic job AMD! I am actually even more excited for the 8 core TR now! That will be my target for next cpu upgrade!

People - please don't feed into this...

Same. Honestly, I think that will be the most interesting benchmark, because it'll show how the extra cache, PCIe lanes, thermal dissipation, CCXs, and memory channels will have an effect vs a similarly clocked Ryzen 7. Such tests could really highlight the pros and cons of AMD's design.

Late Edit: I'd love to see what people have to say now about crap Tomb Raider performance...
People like the knee-jerk on the internet. Most level headed users were expecting a game update to fix it which it has.

Can anyone explain why AMD has the temperature offset on their cpus? is it AMD doing it or just the software reading it wrong? Beyond that, these are amazing. Gaming is what you'd expect about the same as the 1800x, but anything to do with content creation is beyond what i hoped for. i can see more and more content creators going to TR over intel, specially the 1950x which costs just as much as the 7900x but completely destroys it! Be interesting to see how many offices get these for servers over the Xeon/i9 and Epyc chips as a cheaper/better alternative

My mind hurts, and i think its bleeding, from that post.

The memory mode selection is certainly weird but my guess is we won't need to worry about that in some months. I think (relevant) software will optimize for Numa sooner or later making the switch irrelevant.
