I think the GPU have bottleneck the system. It should be use three GTX 1080 TI in SLI

Excellent review as always HH! 😀
That 1950x looks tasty, but i'm not that into content creation so might be a bit overkill for me. Will wait for the 1900x review which i think is more suitable for me.

intel offices right now....

Most powerful desktop processor on the planet....3 years ago, who would have thought AMD would launch it in 2017??? Certainly not Intel!!

Rip intel

Well gaming is same as AM4 so increased bandwidth did not help with that slight bottleneck. Still phenomenal CPU. RIP Intel HEDT.

very impressive even the single core performance i thought it will be lower than intel competitive but @ 4Ghz it's matching with every intel CPU single core performance .
AMD done it right this time

It's nearly double Ryzen. This is a game a lot of Ryzen w/Nvidia card owners have a problem with too - my friend constantly complains about stuttering/weirdness. I think the issue is with Nvidia's drivers but it's weird that it only effects Ryzen and not Threadripper, even when Threadripper is running in UMA mode.
Overall AMD seems to hit it out of the park here.
What's weird is Anandtech's Rocket League results:

So, basically, for $1000, if you go AMD instead of Intel, you can get a much, much faster processor, or for $200 less, you can still get a decently faster processor then going Intel.
Yup.
So you're saying your friend has an nvidia GPU and ryzen CPU and is getting stuttering? I'd wager it has nothing to do with either of them, at least by themselves. Maybe the specific GPU he is using, possibly. I state this, simply because i play rocket league, and have never had stuttering...
As to anandtech, i'd more wonder if rocket league had an update between their tests of the Ryzen and Threadripper.

Wow, its glorious

If the average FPS is 132 and it dips down to 70, what's that gonna feel like?
Yeah super weird, it's probably him, probably totally unrelated to these:

Awesome review and awesome platform. Hats down to AMD, if I were to make a build now it would be X399 TR no doubt!

I'm a little confused - despite that the latency SHOULD be worse than AM4 CPUs (more cores, more CCXs, more memory channels, bigger cache, etc resulting in slower synchronization) somehow, TR manages to outpace AM4 in latency-sensitive tasks like games. And then there are the lower core voltages. Not sure what AMD did but somehow they managed to squeeze a noteworthy amount of performance out of the same architecture.
I wonder if the power tables can be modified to help improve idle power consumption. I agree that ~100W is pretty high for idle.
I also appreciate Hilbert stressing who the target demographic is. Should hopefully be a good reality check for some people.
It's a bit weird seeing an AMD product get the "Top Pick" award.
