Can't wait for Ryzen benchmarks. If the performance checks out and pricing estimates are correct, this will be great for everyone (lower prices of all cpus).

waiting for my Zen now - i'm locked away in a tantra

I really hope they really did struck gold this time and leave Intel and their overpriced quad-cores behind.

It's all using the conditional mood. Meh. Still excited about Zen though. :P

Exciting news, the avg chip if it reaches 4.6-4.7ghz , it will be a great Cpu to get.

All cores oc hopefully.

i just gets better and better. Pls let all these news be solid. My 2500K wants a replacement!

This thing, with a 1000mhz oc, should have the same IPC with a 6700K if not better. With the right price it will be platinum 🙂

If real, that's great news even with only 4 cores.

I'll just use this comment to say this since it's relevant to me. I don't have a Zen but I know people who do. I continue to stand by my comment about 5G not happening on air without too much voltage. This doesn't disprove the statement of ZenOC@Air=5G however I wouldn't get your hopes up because we don't know how many cores or volts actually managed that clock. (my sources never gave me absolute max clock just that it does about X.X for daily use) For all those wondering about X.X. Well lets just say that I am pleased with X.X.
When asked how many cores:
IDK if all the samples are 8 cores I only ever discussed 8 cores since I never had any intrest in the lower core count chips due them not being intresting to me.
and when asked if 5ghz was doable at 4/6 cores:
I'd say you're getting your hopes up with that. Generally a whole series of CPUs tends to clock very similarly. The difference between an average 5960X and an average 4790K is about 250MHz. Same is true for say a 3960X and a 2500K.
Honestly even if it only does ~4.5 it's still good, better than what most Intel 6900K's can do. It's probably going to be a lot cheaper too. Sounds good to me.

Was about to write about his comments too, you save me some work so thanks 🙂 The guy does really interesting stuff.

I learned a long time ago to not belive hype. What will be will be, that way you can't really be disappointed. I do look forward to Zen though, And needs this and so do consumers.

I'd be more than happy to have a 8c 16t chip that can run @ 4.2-4.4ghz 24/7 on air. Surely that will be enough juice for gaming for at least 4 years.

Yeah yeah great and all but show some ****ing results already. We've heard the skylake 5ghz story, we've heard the kaby lake 5ghz.

They said the same for Ivy, Haswell or Skylake or any recent intel cpu.. I would be perfectly happy if this 8core does 4.6 - 4.7GHz on AIR, on aio h2o even cooler mayybe up to 4.8GHz? 🤓 Now 4-6core Ryzen variants, those could do 4.8-5GHz for sure.

"Don't believe the hype" - William Jonathan Drayton Jr. - aka F**** Flav. WTF F**** is censored? Hopefully this is all true or close and hopefully priced below the 6700k or close.

Assuming this does allow all 8 cores to run at 5GHz, I'm personally not sure I'd even want to. I know I can squeeze more performance out of the CPU I have now but I choose not to because doing so would require me to disable more power-saving features and maybe get a better heatsink. There's more to owning a PC than bragging rights; I for one prefer to own something that is a healthy balance between cost, performance, and various comforts of ambiance (like heat and noise).

Too much hype and expectations. Wait till it comes out.

I might just wait for Ryzen rather than buying the new Kaby Lake then. I'd be severely disappointed if this is way overhyped again though. I already am very cynical, but now that AMD said that they won't overhype it this time, if it still proves to be I think they may have lost me as a customer for a long while.
