I wonder how they'll tie the whole infinity fabric frequency with DDR5 higher frequencies.
Any idea when we'll have more details about those upcoming CPUs?
As much as i like my 5900X, i'm growing tired of the 15minutes+ it takes to compile unreal engine lately, same with packaging.

Given the apparent signaling issues with high performance DDR5 I wonder if this means they'll be limiting to 1DPC.
I'd really like to see both AMD and Intel move to quad channel with 1DPC if they want to maintain 4 memory slots. Then they could release some CPUs with better IGPs allowing for a fairly cheap 1080p/60+ box once DDR5 pricing normalizes.

well amd can say a lot but till their new stuff are out and tested this means nothing ....this can end up being like early ryzen memory support where to get anything other than bdie to work over 2400 was rare or be like intel now that support over 4800mhz on 4 sticks is nearly imposible while 2 sticks can clock very high

There are already 2x32GB 5200/5400mhz kits. For 64GB xmp they are the best alternative. Corsair has 4x16 GB kit 5200mhz. 4x dimms has always been more difficult. Worst is maybe the heat, so direct airflow is often needed.

ddr memory is one of the biggest scams in pc industie. followed by vram. this keeps us artificily in the 80ties.

i did not say 4 sticks are a must or better i just said intel's alder lake clocks ram much better on 2 sticks ! All i was trying to convey is this amd announcement is just pr talk and marketing even if their ddr5 support is atrocious they will say the same thing !

I hope AMD delivers again with Zen4 because i´m thinking about upgrading from my current 7600K.
I also hope they they price their stuff reasonably...

IF has been constantly upgraded over the years and we know it likes higher speed RAM, so i don't think R4 will be any different and will have IF 4.0

IF went from max 1800 IF on zen 1 to "max" 1900mhz on zen 3. Crazy upgrade 😛
I'm running 3600mhz memory on Threadripper 1950x (still alive!) and 3800mhz on 5950x.
I hope we get Epic upgrade on the Infinity Fabric, so zen 4 is running 1:1 with Ddr5 7000! Imagine that upgrade 😀
