Just checked one place in the UK and it is £409. The standard 5800X is £309 and the 5900X splits them on £359. It will be interesting to see how the price goes as HH says.

Standard 5800x is a much better deal.

2022, when it can happen that hardware is cheaper in the EU than the US, even if it's probably only for a day or two. Crazy times.

I see it for 515€ over here, but the shipping time is either unknown or weeks. 519€ is actually only a few euros over the MSRP of $449 when you take into account the very high VAT in Finland.

Yeah just seen OCUK has it for £409. To be honest im on 32gb and a 3800x so il just wait until next gen, then wait until the new Bios's mature a bit, im 4k 60hz and my current rig with a 6900xt is good enough.

Many 5800x3d in stock here in Norway! Bought one just for fun 😛 5950x is going to rest for a few weeks.

This is why this is such a niche product. It's for the rich gamer who only plays games and then pairs it up with a 3090ti and plays at 1080p on their 23 inch monitor costing £100 at 230fps rather than only 190fps :D

Considering you have a productivity cpu and are replacing it with a gaming one I will be interested in your overall impression.

No one in the right mind should play at 1080p with 3090ti even at max let alone reduced settings. Its such a waste makes me want to cry.

Saw it around here in two stores. One was at 486€. The other was at 508€. Considering taxes, the price seems close to MSRP.

I'd get the standard one, or 5700X if at good price.

If you play CSGO, Valorant, Fortnite, Warzone, Halo Infinite, Apex Legends, etc...somewhat competitively then price/perf can go fly out the windows 😀

apart from x3d version gaining literally zero in comparison to 5800x in gnexus test of csgo, a couple of % in rss from hardware unboxed, and one more competitive title on pcgh where it was 9% faster,I haven't seen anything to validate that claim. on the contrary,it seems to do better mainly in single player games.

i wonder what the percentage is of PC type people who buy a product based on price/performance.

all amd buyers before r5000 made them change their mind 180 degrees a lot of intel buyers, maybe the majority since i9's are much rarer than i5s.

I mean generally the people on here are mostly a bit more hardcore, so the price/performance doesnt always relate to them, they buy hardware so they can own it, test it, OC it or mod it, the average user or gamer doesnt fit into that dynamic so the price/performance narrative is maybe more relevant to them. Then again we have those who have chosen PC hardware as a hobby, and all men of a certain age need a hobby. Spending thousands on the upkeep of a horse, a boat or a vintage car, compared to spending a few hundred on a PC component that may bring negligible if any improvement, its the same thing really. I don't need a large house, three big TVs, two cars and a designated mancave when i live on my own, but i do cos i can ha ha ha ha ha
