Will they have enough volume for a world release or again limited to a single shop?

The 5700X3D is gonna be in a weird spot as it's clocked so low that it's going to be kinda useless in games compared to the higher clocked 5700x and anyone needing those 2 extra cores should probably just get a regular 5700x as well.

Shouldn't the headline be "...likely Q1 2024 release"?

Weird.

the 5600x3d seems like a very good option if you can't afford the 5800x3d.

I think it's cool they're still supporting AM4 like this. They've got some extra silicon they want to get rid of, why not!

This is great news for people on am4 as it does extend the live of their system. 3D cache works very well. Great to see upcoming affordable cpu's for gaming. I have a 5800x 3D on my secondary system and it is a great cpu even tested with a rtx 4090 and i could not feel any difference versus my 14900kf while gaming ( did some gaming tests ).

Both are very very good news. To have a platform that lives as long as AM4 is just a very good example for the industry. And I have the feeling that 8xxx APUs are going to take the advantage of DDR5 and get nearer than ever to a discrete GPU.

If this lowers 5800X3D BOM by redirecting whatever doesn't make the cut I'm a very happy dude!
Hoping to jump there from a LC 3800X a year from now with a new GPU on my system for proper VR gaming βΊοΈ

Would like a clearer upgrade path from my 3950x to a 5950x3D or at-least a 5900x3D.
Not thrilled about making a tradeoff between a 5800x3D vs 5950x. Would likely go with the 16-core because of when I used (frequent) zip operations to backup stuff, and my testing of AI on Beamng Drive. That uses LOTS of cores for both things. Sure the extra performance of the x3D is nice, but over a 5950x it's not very notable with what I do, and why wait for those longer ops longer than I have to (like zip or running AI tests where the 5800x3D would barely do half of what a 5950x would do)?
What rarely reviews quantify/clarify is if the x3D makes it better at draw calls - which I'd think not, and how many vehicles I can run simultaneously in Beamng Drive with AI use on a large map like Italy / West Coast or even my map Los Injurus.
