Not everybody wants to game but still needs a cheap, good enough graphic experience. In the context of increasing poverty, it's very welcome.

It costs $230 though. For that money, you can get a cheaper CPU and a cheap discreet GPU and get more than double the gaming perf. This doesn't look like a smart buy to me.

Tell me a cpu/gpu combo for 230€ better than this? :P

OK, maybe not 230, but for 300 you can get some cheap i3 CPU and pair it with an RX 6600 GPU. That should give you like a 240% better frame rate. The price to perf ratio on this APU seems really bad to me.

APUs don't really make sense for gaming. However, they are useful to build a compact PC for some niche uses (living room media PC), ITX format or similar.

Handheld devices like Rog Ally 2 or Deck 2.

Yeah, well, I meant desktop gaming... but they are indeed useful for computers that simply cannot have a dedicated GPU due to size limitations.

Imo the most interesting part of these apus is that they include an NPU (neural processsing unit), not alot of software support right now, but going forward could be very useful.

I'm pretty sure software like Topaz (image/video upscaling/filtering) will incorporate instructions for those units rather quickly. They have a very active development cycle. There's also the image editors with AI functions (content aware fill or remove, creative fill, that stuff...). We'll see more and more of this AI stuff in everyday programs, as time passes. And it's amazing, I've used some of this stuff, it's almost black magic... my jaw dropped.

It's definitely not a good purchase. It makes no sense except for ultra-niche cases... no pun intended, but I'll leave it as a double entendre anyway. AMD has gone too far with these prices. If it was cheaper, and used more of the die space for GPU power instead of CPU power to be more balanced, it would have been a lot better of a product.
