This CPU is $50/70 too expensive for what it is, also there is no point to buy one now, as all the boards available are the more expensive ones. What i mean is that usually people that go for 6 cores don't want to expend too much

CPU performance is pretty good actually. It's just the memory subsystem is un optimized. It should have ran at DDR5-6000CL30 or less to see what it really can do but the price performance for the new MB and RAM is just too much.

Video removed; can we please stop posting YT videos in threads that are about Guru3D reviews? These CPU's are actually incredible. Gaming is only very small part of the full picture

Yeah numbers are too low. 4000Mhz DDR4 is faster!!!! Posted on the 7700X memory scaling test. Probably motherboard or OS issue and that affects the performance A LOT as the ram speed is almost half of what should have been. I bet OS because on Linux the performance is what supposed to be even on games, beating the 5800X3D.

Yeah, I noticed that as well, I am not ruling out an issue with AIDA just yet as the procs come back as unsupported by the software suite.

Thought it would be faster....on par with the 12400 from intel in many of the games..my 12400F was a lot cheaper than this cpu. Expected a little bit more performance for the money 🙂

launched at the price of 12700F here. 6/12 vs 8/16+4, no ddr4 support. that's amd's value option.cheapest x670 non-e boards starting from 350eur,twice the price of z690. lol 1000eur for a 6/12 system.

Wait for the b650 and cheaper 6000 ram. 7600x price will go down when 13600k is released then maybe switch from zen2 to zen4. Thats a very fast system if the price is right.

b650 is a tier down from z690,and while it's good enough,there will be no 4x nvme/pcie5 support like even entry level z690/z790 boards will have. waiting for ddr5 while 12700f is ready to go with your current ddr4 and beats that 7600x at the same price is just not in your own interest as a conscious consumer.

Yes but if you invest your platform will evolve and improve over time and support next gen cpus and faster ram. With 12700 you are stuck with a dead platform and old ram. I just dont think its worth buying a ddr4 board.

Just checked other reviews that also used Aida64 and they also have the same results. Much lower memory reads. And the same thing also happens with the 7700X. But not on the 7900X. It's really strange. I wonder if this is an hardware issue and not a problem with Aida64.

well I would expect it to be the case, just for writes rather than reads, The infinity fabric on zen4 stock runs 1800mhz with a 256bit data path that is double pumped, this basically means that it will have double the bandwidth of a zen2/3 chip at that speed, so if we take the asymmetrical infinity fabric links into consideration , that would basically be 57gb/s for writes and 115gb/s for reads as the absolute maximum bandwidth, so the aida results would look correct if it was the other way around 80gb/s reads and 60gb/s writes, there is a performance penalty compared to zen2/3 since the fclk and mclk are never 1:1 , it always operates in async mode, so 80gb/s is not that unexpected tbh.

I hope that is not the case. Gimping memory reads affects performance, because they are much more important than writes.
