Great that you got me so figured out and know what I can and can't afford. You live in one of the richest parts of the world, yet you cry over the price of the electronics. If it is so extremely expensive, as you claim, then just buy it from US, since "Canada is right next to the US".
Rant:
One of the richest in the world? Yes, but that's relatively. That doesn't mean the average person isn't living check to check in poverty. The average person here literally does live check to check, cannot afford to miss one. It's a tiny % which have the massive majority of the country's wealth, much like other corrupt places in the world. It's just at a higher level here. The cost of living in certain places is so absurd, with little opportunity to leave ("lulz just move somewhere cheaper"), that people live miserable poverty style lives even if they technically are not below the poverty line and their money would make them "rich" in other places of the world. To prevent everyone in Canada from buying from the US we get slammed with fees intentionally made so high to make sure no one does. In my experience it's usually been a minimum of 25% of the item's price, before having another fee, along with an expensive delivery fee, and 13-15% tax thrown on top of all of it. As in the 25%, expensive delivery, and other fee get taxed as well. Despite all that, sometimes we DO buy from the US anyway, since the prices difference are sometimes just that absurd. It depends what it is. A major point in all I'm saying, is that even if Canadian dollars are worth X amount compared to another currency, it's meaningless to directly compare it. Currency here when it comes to pay here is treated as if there is no inflation or loss of value, wages have not on averaged changed much since $1 CAD was $1.10 USD. Pay remains mostly the same, while everything for sale has skyrocketed in cost. So even if something "only" costs the same as it does in the US, to us it's as if it's a lot more expensive anyway, since we'll never be making as much to break even, and even if we did it'd be taken away due to cost of living. Example: When I was a kid a loaf of bread was $0.50, a loaf (of the garbage mass produced stuff) is $4-6 now depending on brand, which is far far beyond inflation + loss of currency value. The currency is actually worth MORE than it did at that time. Meanwhile minimum wage increased by about 60% since then... and here's the kicker, those making above that have barely had their wages change at all. And no, recently it hasn't been that bad at all compared to the US prices because the value of our currency compared to theirs plummeted and they finally figured they can't charge more to compensate since there would be too much loss of sales. I just expect to get fracked over on the price of the 3900X. Yeah, I know I live in one of the "best" places in the world. These are first world problems, on a first world board, about first world items.
Regardless, I doubt these items are going to be THAT highly priced in most places in Europe. Let's hope I'm right.

I see your point, but it can be made about literally every country on this planet. Everywhere there are people who live from paycheck to paycheck. The reason why I said that Canada is one of the richest places on this planet is because of the amount of money you get. Compare yourself to i.e. someone living "paycheck to paycheck" on 500€, the goods are just as expensive for them as they are for you, if not more due to taxes. Anyway, we'll soon see the retail prices in the shops, so hope you can buy whatever cpu you want, have a nice day.
