What good is a world first, if it sucks?
PS - not an Nvidia Fanboy either, but at $699USD with performance sometimes rivalled by a 2070, It's a hard pass. Guess we'll see if drivers help. I know a lot of people were hoping for performance in between the 2080 and 2080ti with good overclocking headroom (on account of the die shrink). I guess there's always PolarisVegaNavi Arcturus?
I recall AMD said they'd have stock on release day. I don't believe they ever claimed they would have stock the day after release day.
Anyhow by the time I finished reading Hilbert's review the AMD site had stock and I placed my order.
Still it would be interesting to know just how many cards they actually had for sale.
Great card but too many retailers are taking the piss
$699 RRP is £539.41
The price ranges I have seen for Sapphire, Powercolour, AsRock, Asus, Gigabyte are
£649.99
£698.99
£749.99
£799.99
And they are all the same reference design of course you'd be best to go for the cheapest one you can find since there is no difference between the brands but all the prices are taking the piss in the UK
I'm sure it's the same every where else since this $h1t has been going on for a few years now, since the GAMER craze. Upped prices for something called GAMER.
I laughed out loud when AMD told the weak lie that there would be stock available this time. No surprise that there's none available.
Even if there was stock, that retarded price kills it. $700 USD for 2017 performance. That was the MSRP for the 1080 Ti in 2017 wasn't it? Nice. 16GB HBM2 with 1TB/s bandwidth doesn't do shit if it can't beat cards from ancient history.
Isn't all the HBM2 currently supplied by only one dickwad company who's gauging the absolute crap out of all their clients?
In my neck of the woods, the local tech mall has a few shops that stock the card, I was at the mall earlier and simply couldn't resist....

There is one thing which bothers me a lot. vBIOS switch. I have not seen it in any image. I like to mess with HW and vBIOS switch on Graphics is quite important there as it makes recovery much easier.
