It's nVidia partnership.
Test was done with Amd 2700x cpu.
Vega did not work 😛

I would not say Strong. RX 580 is just enough for 1080p. GTX 1060 can go home as it is not ready for competing in that race.
Now, one could say there are no optimizations, yet. But it is freaking same engine, so they should have stuff tuned quite a bit.

I wouldn't count on any performance numbers to stay the same once the final game's released.

1080ti average is 85 fps 1440p ultra
1080 averege is 65 fps 1440p ultra
1070 average is 54 fps 1440p ultra

I guess Nvidia will fix the performance for AMD once the final game is released with Gameworks.

It's probably due to the fact that the game is being built for the consoles first.

I ran the Alpha with my specs (3570k@4.5/GTX 970@1455), I use old dell 1600x1200 display and the default graphic settings were set too high.
I was getting "around" low's of 60 to highs of 75 or so, avg about mid 60's. I changed that to a mix of mid-high, anyway it runs about 10% lower than BF1 and there is a lot of damage and destruction compared to BF1.
Who knows what the cause of the article, it could be something as simple as maybe a bug and both AMD and Nvidia are not rendering same images, but it's probably just lack of optimation as many things are not working right yet.

This will get patched by a new nvidia driver when the game is actually ready to release. Most likely the current nvidia drivers aren't properly optimized with the right compatibility bits set for this game. Not sure why you guys are surprised when this has happened with nearly half of all AAA releases over the last 10 years. Sometimes with nvidia, sometimes AMD, sometimes both.

Or simply put, 1060 just sucks.

Last time i checked the RX 580, was just plain stronger than the GTX 1060 right? so shouldn't be shocking that it is losing. Specially when least here in the UK you can get a GTX 1060 for around 40-70 pounds cheaper than the RX 580, depending on what Gb model you want
