@ schmidtbag - that is NOT a bad idea. If a GOOD 300 MB still has 2x PCIE 3.0 Slots, and good VRMs, Ryzen 5x00 can still be put to good use, Bios support and all. But I wonder if Hilbert or someone can spare the time to do a single spot test with the TOP 300 and 400 B or X boards just for comparison? That is the one of the benefits of Ryzen over Intel afterall. Imagine the huge number of CPU upgrade sales for 4 cores or less Ryzen 1x00, 2x00 and 3x00 owners! AMD would be the one with "unprecedented" demand for their gear!

Until January (or who knows maybe sooner) the cpu prices will surely be settled and for the Asus X470-F owners, there is no need to worry regarding the bios size. Isn't that something using at least three series of ryzen cpus on the same mobo...? 😉 Well done amd.

FYI... you can see what version of BIOS you are currently running using the Ryzen Master software in advanced mode, in the About menu option... seems I already downloaded that ROG-CROSSHAIR-VIII-HERO-ASUS-2206 way back on 14th September. Not sure if AGESA is a "version" anywhere or just embedded in BIOS versions.
