Intel has a lot of catching up to do, drivers-wise.. I could imagine them having cheaper gamer cards at first but more expensive GPGPU cards (assuming they differentiate them which I 100% believe they will).

I am hoping sometime AMD makes a card that is similar to the 7970 that went toe to toe with high ranged Nvidia cards of the time. Like they need to make a card that can go toe to toe with 2080 Ti.

Would be great to see. Sadly the cost for these cards to make is going up and will be passed on.

As I have said many times: Gives us a $200 -ish video card with good power consumption and plenty of GPU power for 1080 -2K gaming and you'll have people making queues as big as iPhone launch. I have saved money for a slashed RX 580 or a Vega 56 for 200-ish. But if there is a strong possibility to have a Navi GPU for the same amount of cash, well, why not?
$230 will get you a 1660 which is a very fair deal for the performance.

Even with these cards AMD is still AMD, means far from a real competition to NVIDIA. "Navi" just proves again their inferiority in terms of research, development and manufacturing, which also makes it clear why even the custom designs are hotter, noisier and demand more power without even coming into the performance range of the current or even the last Nvidia mid to high end series. AMD GPUs should, as usual in recent years, be easily ignored. OT:

and with bonkers local prices
Hi, can you give us some examples of your local prices and maybe prices of used hardware? Personally I would never ever buy used components or computers bcs there are just too many scammers and dishonest,money-grubbing jerk-offs. as far as I can recall my experiences on eBay and Craigslist substitutes, I never received any of them as described...
