It would be nice for those of us who want to buy a GPU to actually, you know, be able to buy one (at MSRP of course). Anyone running a business who sees consumer demand yet DOES NOT want to produce product to sell at a profit to consumers, needs to find a new line of work.

I'm pretending new cards don't exist until after CES, January 14th. I figure stocks will be decent by then and drivers will have a few iterations to iron things out. I have a decent GPU now so not even going to stress over it.

I been looking on OCUK, SCAN and AMAZON UK and there's not a sniff of any 6800/6900 or 5900 any time soon, pretty frustrating stuff when not even these three major players in UK hardware sellers can get a card.

I sure hope you're right, but I have a sneaking suspicion it'll take a few months more before we're out of most of this - and possibly another year or more to completely put it behind us. So try not to hold one's breath. Hit the used market if there's a favorable option for you at some point, if you cannot still get a new card.
