Some people dont see the hidden potential. I found out this Primo cache program, it allows multi tier caching and deferred write Im building my system around this feature, 10gb of ram as level 1 cache, 300gb of 3D XPoint as level 2 cache, differed write enabled and ill never experience slow writes to any of my HDDs or even 1tb NVMe that I have (which slower then 3D XPoint for sure) The only portion outside of caching is boot, which uses 150gb of 3D XPoint, but im thinking of maybe giving it level 1 RAM cache, say 3-5gb to accelerate 3D XPoint . In this setup each HDD has it own letter the level 1 and level 2 cache is just in between and its invisible, like Intel SRT but supports more than one drive and can use RAM caching can boost your performance, if you use NVMe than use it as caching for HDDs but best is to get 3D XPoint+RAM, even that small one 280gb 900p drive and use it to accelerate all your system drives be it ssds, nvme and hdd

With the advent of nvme, we face a new paradigm. Storage so fast it approaches memory speeds, if not latency, in raid form. Ram is not perfect either. Concurrently ram is ruinous and demand insatiable. Afaik, no one here has viewed cache here from that perspective. One poster here writes of a ram cache for an xpoint drive which further caches an ssd. The reviewer d8haur? got 28GB/s from an 8 drive array on a threadripper. More apps than you suspect can profit from massive memory, and layered cache as above can provide far better simulated ram than has ever been possible before. All vega cards allow just that via the hbcc - to use storage as well as system ram as simulated gpu cache.

this "tech" sounds very similar to MacOS's Fusion Drive. Anyway, has anyone actually tried the software? I wanted to find out if it will work with the B350/X370 RAID volume. Right now I have a NVMe drive with 3x 7200RPM 500GB HDD in RAID0. it would be interesting to see if I can combine all these with the FuzeDrive software.
